How could I forget? I'll buy a yacht and hire a full-time captain, chef, bartender, and get 100lbs of herb, and whores for those in need. A 3 hour tour? Hahaha good stuff!
I can cook!! Picke me! What a great write up of your surfing adventure. It's so colorful and concise. You coulda easily puffed up how you were scoring DOH waves with ease. Your honesty and descriptions just made the whole essay wonderful. And you took the time to share it. Gotta respect you for this.
You just made the team, Betty. If anyone gets out of line or swipes food from the galley, let the cap'n know & discipline will be meted out!
I'm still gonna hit up Canoa, Ecuador for a couple a weeks this summer. Going to drive to Destin, Fl to see my son when he's back from his Honduras deployment first, then fly into Quito. Canoa looks really laid back.
dont feel bad i went to equador and got mediocre waves also. it actually is not that consistent. the best waves are from northern swells and it is a long way for those to travel. they do get souths which hit playas but those waves are pretty ordinary. best surf was at the navy base got in with a local a fun point break.
I heard the same thing from others who have gone to that area of Ecuador. Major paddle battles getting out at the beach breaks.
Thanks for all the info on Ecuador. I was thinking about going there next year for the holidays and yours is some good info to consider. we have been to a lot of the same places. I have done most of SE ASIA incl Indo, Western Europe, Surfed every country in CentroAmerica except honduras and Belize, Peru, PR DR, and Mex. Of all my traveling experiences, Mexico is still my favorite place. The waves are of course insane, but the people, food, drink, weather, music, language, really add to it all for us. My wife and I will be retiring there. The cost of living is soooo cheap and yes there is violence there but if you follow standard traveling rules you are very unlikely to see it. Really it's the same as the US in that regard. Drove the whole pacific mainland coast this summer it's insane how many waves aren't being surfed. Lots of great waves with a mellow crowd too. ...... lots of "secret" or empty spots to hit down there still. Cheers hope everyone is good.
