My friends on the Gulf are having a great Winter so far, here's what came through yesterday following a NASTY storm that had 4 tornadoes touch down and killed a couple people, injuring several others. Thoughts go out to those who were badly affected. To those who scored yesterday, be very thankful you did, as i'm sure you are. http://www.gulfster.com/Daily/2016PictureGallery/011716ami/index.html http://www.gulfster.com/Daily/2016PictureGallery/011716ami-2/index.html http://www.gulfster.com/Daily/2016PictureGallery/011716lbk/index.html http://www.gulfster.com/Daily/2016PictureGallery/011716captiva/index.html http://www.gulfster.com/Daily/2016PictureGallery/011716sarasota/index.html
Thanks Yankee, I pulled these from Gulfster, they have great photogs that capture every swell in WFL and also over here on the East side. Props to them!
Camped at De Soto State park. Storm flooded the entire tent. Woke up to 50 mph winds and lightening. Didn't even get to surf it because we were so tired. Another front setting up for next weekend. Maybe I'll just do a day trip this time...
Looks fun! The second photo looks like the dude got decapitated and his head is floating next to him ha
Reminds me of a trip to NC a few buddies and I went on. Camped out for 2 weeks. One night was really bad, water spouts, high wind, sideways rain... We let ourselves into a mansion that was vacant. Came back in the AM to the entire tent flooded with all our crap. No surf after that one either!
Left overs today... http://www.gulfster.com/Daily/2016PictureGallery/011816captiva/index.html http://www.gulfster.com/Daily/2016PictureGallery/011816ami-2/index.html http://www.gulfster.com/Daily/2016PictureGallery/011816ami/index.html
Takes me back. Although I had pretty much just started surfing, so I wasn't stylin in any barrels. LOL
, The first time I camped at Hatteras Lighthouse... ...our big ole high profile canvas boy scout tent blew to pieces and we had to sleep in the car(a Mercury Capri - 3 of us) and set up the little dome tent the next day. I remember Gary trying to reset the lines as the wind switched every 10 minutes and then whooosh there she blows!
