Ne wind can be clean here on the island but usually drifty as hell. The marina in the dirty jerz might be working. Belmares gonna be like 50 foot

My stoke for this one is gradually mellowing. I usually take public transportation to surf, which might shut down. Plus, the swell is looking to be on the upper limit of my comfort zone. Like LBCrew said, 'leftovers without the main course.' Except the portions are tiny and the wind is sideshore...

I know I shouldn't have faith in anything 5-7 days out, but last weekend was surprisingly good, and I was hoping we would have a repeat! Hopefully we get no more than a half inch of snow, f*ck snow.

Why do you take public transportation to surf?? Parking issues?? Theft?? Localism?? Or do you not own a car (which for city dwellers is rational)?

Localism ... haha. You might get something stolen from your car, but the thief certainly wouldn't be a surfer...

I don't have a car because it's expensive and a big pain in the ass here. Now and then I have a work vehicle for days or weeks at a time, and it is great to take to the beach. But finding parking in my neighborhood frequently consumes 30-60 minutes. Add that to a 12 hour work day, and you're not walking through the door in a good mood.

Plus, with what I'd spend on a car, I can go on a lengthy trip to another part of the world. Looks like it could be a month-plus in Indo this year.

Which is cool, but when the subway isn't running, and the waves are pumping & clean, it's hard to stay sane!

Yeah, I get it. Our daughter lived in NYC for a few years while getting PhD at NYU. She used the saved money to spend 2 years in Italy. Smart kid....I know, I know; she takes after her mom.......

When I was living in the city I didn't have a car. I used to have to walk 5 blocks to a CVS because it is was the only one that carried XXXL condoms. It was a pain in the ass

Had a 1/2 inch of snow here in NC and school is closed... An ice storm is heading this way tonight so no school again tomorrow. This sucks because although I'm off, I won't be able to drive to the swell... last Saturday was suite though...

making the call tomorrow whether to take Monday off or not. Looks good everywhere. Decision is to try and make it up to Jersey or stay down here and go the OBX route. Decisions decisions.....

Dude, OBX 10 out of 10 times, better waves, less crowds, not even a decision, plus, think about the temperatures, no brainer IMO

Yea... But I've never surfed jersey and this would be a perfect time to make that happen. I dunno I'm always down for searching for new waves. And if the forecast changes, always can make it down south easy
