For years I've been telling people a certain spot holds the heaviest waves in NJ. I've gotten some strange looks when I've described the wave in terms of its resemblance to Pipeline. Its a rare gem that I've only caught epic twice in my 30+ years of surfing and there are few photos I've seen that do it justice. A couple shots emerged from yesterday though.

CAPE G#y is NOTHING like PIPE... and it is NOT the heaviest wave in NJ by ANY means ! But A + for effort and dedication :)

looks pretty heavy, but in Belmar that would be considered leftovers

Indeed ...that is thick. if any of your recall NOEL .... Cape was mental... I ve surfed Cape for some time now and had plenty of arm burning sessions out there but it's so fickle and weird that I consider it more of a novelty wave.

compared to BELMAr +1 ... groms ride these on their summer BEATERS there ;)

I think due to it being Jerz... any break could be the heaviest break depending on the conditions and no break could ever be compared to PIPE

Like I said, in over 30 years of surfing I only got it epic on two occasions but those two surpassed anything else I've ever gotten anywhere else in the state.

If that compares to pipe then so does southside IRI.

I'm with CJ on this... Not from experience, never surfed that wave.

But show a single pick of a heavier lip in NJ.
