I'm pretty sure that's the same guy at the same spot as the links I posted.

Kevin Welsh said that. And he made east coast surfing videos back in the day.

Jersey's heaviest wave changes every year...with every replenishment....with every consequential storm.

One year HC on LBI was the heaviest wave.

Then it was Main Beach in "Squan"

You see what is is that I be saying. Heck, the middle of last decade there were no waves in North Jersey.

Two times a year Cape May can be impressive, but I hear they are planning on "changing" the "dangerous" waves at Cape May to make them more tourist friendly. Oh well, another legend bites the dust. Does anything ever change for the better anymore.

They already killed the sunset pavilion with all that sand ! That break sucks now and it used to be glorious ! I caught my best barrel there in fact.... it would run down all the way off the top of the jetty ....man i miss that wave !

Though you can't count on Cape May as your regular spot.....

I've seen, probably the best quality waves in Jersey there. But that's just me. I didn't frequent anywhere north of Point Pleasant. I have surfed Belmar twice, though.

One day many moons ago I had this jetty all to myself and it was really good. like, some of the best stuff I've seen in Jersey.

Then that Matt Keenan guy showed up with a few of his followers and it was just ruined.

OMG, all I heard was his entourage screaming, "YEAH MATT !!!!"

Suck up followers. Ha, one of them was probably Wayne back in the crack years.

Yep... me too. But I'm talkin' OLD Cape May. When I was a kid, guys used to stand all along the rocks at the end of the parking lot and fish into a deep hold that held lots of fish. This was back in the '70s and '80s.

So you've seen ghosts or just know a few hainted places?

I'm looking for clues to the afterlife.

I have died twice, but didn't see any white lights or tunnels. But that may have been due to all the booze. I was, like, blacked-out drunk before I sniffed. My depressant tolerance was way down and I drank a ton before hitting the ghetto. Both times, I blacked-out from booze just as I participated in open commerce. Then the ER. You know the deal.

    F'ING SWELLINFO, MAN !!!! Whooo Hooo !!

I might have been part of that scene. ;) That one memorable day I mentioned earlier I was down there with an OC crew that consisted of Matt, Dean Randazzo, Luke Ditella and a number of others. The peak was being dominated by people from OC and I don't think the regulars were happy about it. That day will go down as the best waves I've ever surfed in over 30 years of surfing in NJ. Both Luke and Dean got pictures published from that day. Best day of tube riding ever.

I've never seen a ghost. But I've heard tons of stories. One of the best was this story about a guy who's wife put a kettle of water on the stove to make tea. She walked out of the room, and the kettle came to a boil. Her husband heard the kettle whistling... and whistling... and whistling... Realizing his wife couldn't hear it, he walked into the kitchen to turn off the stove. Just as he walked into the kitchen, and the kettle came into view, he saw the kettle slide off the burner that was on, to a burner that was off.

I guess the ghost didn't like all the racket.

    True story...
