I'm a lot of things RC, some good some bad and most somewhere in between. My perspective has changed and probably will continue to over the years due to my desire to continue to grow. There is a lot of room for improvement on my part. The lyrics are not mine (Tod Snider) but I find that they describe the religious right wing of the rep. party well. I respect views when logically presented and argued but I do not tolerate those who want to pass laws to restrict others freedoms based on their particular brand of religion. I hear you on discrimination and it is present in society as a whole...reference my point about the left pandering b/c that does not mean that they (left) do not have white males who in their heart are bigots...it just means well, that they are pandering (for votes). Can you explain what you mean by less worthy of freedom because of color or ethnicity? If you are an American citizen you hold the same freedoms right? Well, allowing same sex marriage isn't really forcing one's beliefs on another. The law doesn't make you marry John. It allows other people to marry which affects no one else. There is racism everywhere. But no one is really as vocal and supportive of it these days as Southern Conservatives. You know some on the left really do believe in racial equality and it's not just a vote-getting tactic.
What the white southern democrats back in time? Aren't they irrelevant by now. Just like Teddy Roosevelt doesn't represent the modern day republican.... And hell yeah, I hear it everyday up here and you probably do to. You'll hear northerners make derogatory comments aboot minorities. But the folks up here aren't crazed aboot it. They aren't posting racial rants on Youtube videos and telling people to keep their confederate money because the south is rising again(which I just saw some toothless guy rant aboot). We don't have Televangelist up here stating that The Bible and God sent Hitler to kill all the jews and The Bible wants God fearing people to "get rid" of homosexuals(which I just heard happened recently...and Ted Cruz shook the guy's hand after his rant). I don't know maybe life is just faster up here and our bigots don't have the time to dedicate like some dude in the Appalachians. I don't know. The world is a freaken nightmare for those who think and feel. And Barry wonders why I'm on drugs. Man, it would be nice if this country could stop bickering and work towards the common good. See some of y'all keep going-on aboot the government funding people and supporting them. Of course, they are all middle class white boys raised in safe docile neighborhoods who were given opportunities. Do you have any idea what it is like for some folks? It ain't easy when one has no supervision, and one lives in a neighborhood that YOU wouldn't even dare drive thru. All they see is violence and poverty and hopelessness. That's how they grow-up....seeing all of that. Living thru all of that. Nahhhh, you wouldn't be on the corners if you were raised in that environment, right? And the robot thing is just completely irrelevant for this discussion. They aren't creating robots to "take care of the needy" They create robots for warfare or to do jobs more cheaply than human labor. Oh oh there's more people in the unemployment/welfare line. See a major problem some people on here have is that they have NO IDEA how some folks live. No clue. They are sheltered in their white, middle class utopias. The welfare life isn't hard to achieve. Some of you make it sound so attractive. And sound so jealous. Well, it's a readily obtainable goal.
