I used to work at The Sanderling Inn in Duck, NC as a Night Auditor - totally b!tchen in the winter not so much in the summer..... Their main restaurant was an old "life saving" station renovated. Most of the staff there claimed to have seen stuff, including a beer bottle just hovering in the air. Supposedly, The South Inn was hainted by a young girl who would roam the halls. The town of Duck just incorporated itself and hired it's own police force. At nights it was just me and a security guard, one was a retired NC State Trooper - he was a drunk so we got along famously. And one of the Duck cops would come and hang with him sometimes at night. He used to be security at The Sanderling but abruptly left. Rumor had it he saw the girl and freaked out..... One time one of the manager types stayed late for some reason and saw this cop and axed him aboot it.... Now usually he came in, friendly enough, but had that small town cop attitude....like a tough guy..... When axed aboot it....he went white and wouldn't even say anything and bolted from our front office area.... I had to "reset" the system nightly and if anyone had a computer still logged on I couldn't do it.... So I had to roam the property at 3:00 am - dead time to find the offender's computer. There was numerous properties associated with this place( 2 restaurants, 3 inns, Spa/healthclub etc.) Yeah, that Restaurant was kind of fuking spooky. Was it imposed in my mind? I don't know. But there was something aboot that place.....
Did you ever jump from the boardwalk to access the backyard? Don't forget your shock cord or your board could be toast.
Oh he11 yea... Remember the sandbags that were down there? Ever jump from the WCM bridge into the canal?
Not the WCM bridge, but we often jumped from the train bridge. Floating debris could be a hazard, but we were young and dumb.
Yeah, I remember the sandbags would surface, and I think I remember them ripping open in spots. Original beach replenishment... I wonder if they are still there.
that's nothing out of the norm here in nj,it all breaks the same, just some spots handle certain swells a lot better when all conditions align.now I never been south of barneget, but we get plenty big, sandsucking thick hollow drainers all the time in the north. this was yesterday I believe, idk I just seen the pic, havnt been online in a while, havnt even read the surf forecast in 2 weeks this is no,joyzy
I have surfed them all and jenks is the most dangerous and frightening wave of consequence to anyone who has been out there. Even the locals know it is no joking around out there.-
He's off the payroll! Earning his keep. Home base egg harbor, but all over Salem, Cumberland, Atlantic and cape may counties selling sam Adams, angry orchard, twisted tea and traveler. His first surf in 10 years this Christmas and he put us all to shame. Talent, head dips in closeouts like he never missed a swell. I do have to admit poverty does seem maybe equal danger but not as terrifying as jenks.
What he moved to EHC? He works out of Hammonton, right? You guys Italian? That goes a long way in Hammy.
We are not Italian. He looks like he is an o lineman on the stillers. I would seriously like to have him get you a case since you are drinking now. Speaking of which, deer hunter. One shot. This is this. God bless ameeica. Mow! I'll getcha a rolling rock, tha's the best beer. Surfed today. Two fun rides, 30 minutes paddle, chadwick in winter.
