Couldn't this be said about every thread? Let's be honest, the whole reason we're all on here is cause we have absolutely nothing more interesting to do.

Warnings Issued After Fatal Shark Attack
    July 20 , 2009
    Release from:
    WBOC Broadcasting Corporation

Ocean City, Md marine authorities are warning people not to swim in the water on a 45 mile stretch of coast after the second fatal shark attack in the area in as many months.

An 34-year-old Glen Burnie man who was surfing in the ocean city area this morning has died as a result of a severe leg injury inflicted by a massive bull shark.

It is believed a bull whaler shark was responsible for the attack.

Primary Industries Minister Henry Palaszczuk says baited drum-lines are being placed in the area to catch it.

Mr Palaszczuk says there are hundreds of aggressive bull whalers in the inlets and shore line and swimmers need to act safely.

"Don't swim near the inlets, don't swim at dusk, don't swim at dawn, don't swim alone and swim between the flags, it's as simple as that," he said.

I wonder if the AP picked up the story yet. Need to be distributed regionally, to make sure Balto/DC gets fair warning.

There is even a rumor of a monster in the chesapeake bay... very intelligent creature who is taking stones off the foundation of the bay bridge... was seen depositing them in the river near Havre de Grace... Boaters have already been warned.

VB is infested as well. The jetty was crawling with them this morning, and all up and down the beaches this evening. I was too skeert to even try to go in this evening! The lifeguards said that the fish that are coming inshore that they are after for food are expected to clear out about Monday and it should be safe then. I just feel obligated to warn anyone anywhere near VB to stay out of the water until then.

You guys need to shake the gay! Especially you dorks from OC and Jersey that think you are pro surfers. I'll look for you ***s on buymyposter.com. I'd guess no more than 3 people that visit this site ever made a dollar off of surfing. Grow up with your locals only ****

WHAT?!?!! I heard shaken the gay is a dead give away for shark attacks. People do not heed his warning, this man is clearly misinformed about the serious level of sharks within our waters, again do not shake your gay!

Read the thread on the previous link... there's no doubt about it, there are plenty of sharks around uswhen we're out there. WOW! Glad I still have all my toes as much as I've been soaking them this summer.

    shark attack LBI

Last week i was in LBI, saw no sharks, which was unusual...but today i was talking to my brothers friend whos parents has a house in Loveladies, this kid said he witnessed a shark attack early last week.
A surfer about 200 ft was near a school of blue fish. he started screaming and got pulled off his board (im thinking the blues are just biting him, pain in the a## fish).
But the lifegaurds called for everyone to leave the water saying there was a shark, and when the guy made it to the beach he was missing half his shin along with his foot, he said it was bit clean off.

I trust this kid, and his parents witnessed this too, unless they are all looney this happened. This makes sense because when i was down in Brant Beach the lifegaurds were calling us out of the water whenever a school of blues were in sight moving down the beach. I have never seen guards call swimmers from the water before due to blues.

I havent seen anything about this any where, in 2005 when a kid in surf city was bitten by a juvinile great white the media was all over it. But this..nada...
Does anyone know anything about this?
