If there was a week to visit southern california for the summer, it is this week. From today, all the way through monday, the surf will be ranging frmo 6 to 9 feet along the entire san diego coastline. Long period south swell. Hop on a $99 one way flight on southwest. its gonna be cracking on every reef! Enjoy if anyone is already out here visiting. I just got a message from Windswellsucks. I think he is in SD right now. Lets do it!

Seriously, Puerto is going fu**ing balistic. I can't WAIT to see photos of those crazy fu**s down there. My friend left for Puerto 2 days ago. The guy that won tube of the year got that barrel down there on a swell like this. He had a tow, but still, he was shacked up in a solid 30-35 footer gaper. You coulda fit a fu**ing cruise ship under the lip...!

Yeah man, Santa Teresa looks Epic. Can't wait until September, which is usually more consistent too.

not to start up this controversy again. But in that other post, I was the "Crazy Guy" Who claimed that Puerto Escondido gets heavier than pipeline gets when it maxed out. A 40 foot wave over a reef is bad enough. A 40 foot wave into smooth sand it a horrifying thought. Puerto is on my list of places I will only surf on an off swell day. Puerto, Mavs and couple other random ones, but you better have your will written up and notorized if you headed down there this weekend. fu**in psychos. I can't wait to see my buddies pics. He left about 8 days ago.

But anyway, South San Diego was really fun today. It maxed out at 6-7 feet down here on the cliffs. It was eerie, there was litterally nobody out along multiple cliffs spots. I got 1.5 hours of Video of me surfing my favorite little spot all alone. It was freaking eerie. The water is 70+ degrees, its a couple feet over head and there were only a few heads out. That must have been because O-side and OC were hitting 8-10 feet consistenty...

Either way, I got some really solid video today, which is rare in the summer on either coast... Tomorrow and monday will be fun too, but back down to the slightly OH area...
I will post pics and video as I get it copied to my laptop.

definitely tow out type of swell for Puerto Escondido. It was 30+ feet when I was there. That place gets massive, and don't forget it is a beach break with sandbars. I"m sure some footage will be popping up from lots of places around the Western Pacific on this swell.
