But the crowds have never been as bad before either. The last few weeks, I am told the crowds in the water have been way beyond was is normally seen there. So, seems like it finally "got to" a local. Has the potential to spread, short term, but it will wash away once the swells are all done. One for the "history" books, I suppose.
I've been hassled out of the water at Domes, threatened with a beating. For real, and I'm pretty mellow in the water. Pretty much exactly what the guy above said...I didn't DO anything wrong, just in the wrong place/time.

So it happens in the water like it's happening everywhere. The poison of socialism (every thing belongs to every body) fouls even the surfing world. When your traveling anywhere behave yourself and respect the people who live there. Take the time to learn or at least try to speak their language and keep a low profile. This goes not only for exotic locales but those closer to home. Only the individual knows when he's in home territory or not, and its not based on distance from the specific spot. The guy deserved it, nothing worse than someone you've never seen before at a home spot mouthing off to the people that are there everyday.
Go early Never had an issue at Marias or Domes, usually because there's so many touristas who can't surf a crap anyway. But at Domes, I do early dawn patrol so am in the water with only 1 or 2 guys. Never been hassled but I don't drop in and will give waves. I think its all a matter of atitude. Domes gets too crowded after about 830am so I leave and don't have to deal with all that local nonsense.

I do have a fine basement, recently set it up as a workshop....new table saw, router...all sorts of fine toys. Have fun blowing out your liver.
