Immigration used to be a topic that the politicos never wanted to discuss during election season. However, Trump has brought it to the forefront. Now, it's a subject being heavily abused for the sake of votes on both sides.

This could all be solved if the U.S. would just ENFORCE THE LAWS ALREADY ON THE BOOKS. We already have laws punishing those who hire illegals (see Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, also called "Reagan's Amnesty". The laws also have in place very direct statutes regarding how illegal entrants are handled, yet both parties (particularly the current administration) continue to blatantly disregard those laws...even to the point of creating "policies" that are in direct conflict (read, "against the law") with those statutes. It's a JOKE.

Enforce the law. Period. There is no need whatsoever for "immigration reform" lol. It's just a euphemism for another amnesty...except instead of "2 million" this time, it's well over the 11 million that our government has led us to believe.

If you really want immigration reform, close the gates, deport all illegals, and expand on the non-immigrant worker visas to allow non-immigrants to work here on a temporary basis to "do the jobs Americans won't do" (even though I don't fully believe this is a factual statement). We have the technology in place to track these people from entry to exit. When their visas expire, it wouldn't be difficult in the least to ensure that they return to their home countries. Then, we give other people the same opportunity to work here for the same period of time. It really is much easier than our government would have you believe.

As far as GMO's and all the other woes of man's existence:

My belief is that technology is great and necessary, and will extend our existence on Earth. Unfortunately, it is in Man's nature to constantly test the boundaries of everything (nature included). Technology alone will not ensure our continued existence. We will find some way to fock it up permanently. But it won't happen during our lifetime.

So, I don't stress out about such things...I just take a deep bong rip and go surfing. I don't like to think of it as burying my head in the sand; I call it "resolve".
