I'm telling you, every time I pee in the ocean i'm able to paddle just a little bit faster, it works. I pee a lot...

 

That board is bad a**! Will probably work great at AI with a flatter wave. Generally Simmons style boards lack drive...more of a glide board...that board looks like it would be insanely fun to ride.

Ive got a 5'2" mystic with twinzer fin set up and I honestly cant tell much difference between when I have the lead fins in or just run it as a twin.

 

cool board...but, yeah, it's a compromise when you ask for that much glass (paint adds weight, too, contrary to popular belief).

I'm guessing you want the board to last longer than usual, but the added weight could put a dent in paddling performance (depending on what paddling shape you're in...or plan to be in). On the optimistic side, weight cuts through chop better and carries momentum longer than a lighter board.

 

Looks like fun! Glassed like that, it will be a long-term relationship!

 

Nice... I have Wynn building me a groveler in similar dims but its more like the Lost Couch Potato/Bean Bag. I will be getting mine in a week or two. You'll have to post some pics.
