    the term "pro surfer" is thrown around pretty loosely these days.

    Agreed but if you get paid in any way you are a "pro". Don't need to be on the WSL to be pro.
    Regardless, off topic.
    Hope this young bloke makes it. Ripped his thigh right off apparently right to the bone. Thoughts and prayers with him

    can you prove that they're chumming surf breaks or is this just wild speculation

    They've been chumming a local break for the last week now here in NE FL. They've been camped out about 1/4 mile north from the actual break, but it's been ENE swell, NE wind, and N to S current the entire time.

    I have never heard of a Bronze Whaler. I thought it was referring to a heavy set jersey woman on the beach. Glad the dude is in stable condition!
