The number one thing they need is a real economy. There will always be silver spoon d-bags like bin laden, but if the masses had a real economy and a real chance to make a living they would not even think twice about being radicals. Oh yeah surfing helps too. Checkout the video of Kadafi (spelling) the day they killed him, freaking great surf that day in the background.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain have good economies, yet also have some of the most radical extremists...leading a reasonable and prudent person to believe that money is probably not the primary issue.

Bingo: KR on target, again & again. Majority of the 9/11 attackers (15 of 19) were from The House of Saud, yes...?

What's your point? You have no point, that's your point. The USA supports something like 140 nations with over $35 billion in economic aid (2014). That's approximately 76% of the world receiving money from the USA. Add in the various private sector donations & stuff like mosques in America supporting Qaeda, and it's pick-a-nation where the USA is 'interfering.'

Not saying that the US doesn't interfere, because we are the worst offenders in the world. But these extremists are attacking the softest targets in countries that only have a passing relationship with the West. How does one explain that? The reason is for their hatred of anything and anyone different than them, at it's simplest level.

Honestly, I have a harder time understanding why people who claim to be "tolerant" seem to love and tolerate a people who have zero tolerance and are so consumed with hatred, while denigrating their own citizens as "racist", "xenophobic" and "uninformed" while defending foreigners.

Those economies are based on primarily one or two industries that employ just a fraction. Sure there is money but there isn't much in the hands beyond the power people. None of you can tell me some guy in Saudi making bank and surfing PR like yank all the time would ever get lured into joining ISIS.

Until they get forced to change. Loved the article but I am sure the publicity didn't help their cause.

Agreed. It's definitely going to be a challenge for them, but all they need is the stoke and hopefully one day be able to have freedom of choice in their lives.

Checkout the latest surfers journal as well. Kids from the Durbin slums using surfing as an escape from their terrible circumstances.

Yeah dude, I understand what you're saying. Please don't misunderstand my statements as being broad and indicting an entire race or nationality or whatever, because that is not my intention.

What I'm trying to draw attention to is the fact that there is a very serious issue with the Middle East and its peoples...and this has been going on for centuries, not just since 1948 or 1967 or 9/11/2001. CENTURIES. And it has nothing to do with economies, and little to do with Western "interference".

I'm also trying to draw attention to the fact that the American mainstream media downplays the number of violent atrocities (as well as the level thereof), in what appears to be an attempt to appease the current administration and "dumbing down" the American population by either incorrectly reporting exactly what's happening, or not reporting anything at all.

Which is why we have the thread "This Sh!t's Gotta Stop". At least *some* people are paying attention.

Not all people from the Middle East are terrorists...I know. Give me a little credit here dawg. But the people causing the most terror on the planet are from the Middle East. Nobody can lay the full blame of Jews or "American Interference" on their behavior. It is what it is, and to call it anything else is disingenuous at best...and lying at worst.

Nuking and banning are, for me, out of the question. I think on a different level, and hate is not in my 'A' game. But it would make perfect sense to strongly vet any Middle Easterners before freely allowing them Carte Blanche in my country.

And if you actually believe that these people are being seriously vetted, come talk to me and my buddies with ICE Investigations and Adjudications. These people are practically getting a free pass, along with the illegals.

    FACT

On another note, I'm stoked that those girls are doing something that is considered a deep taboo in their country.

I guess it would be great if other countries were more democratic and open, but they probably don't want to be like us...and I can't blame them if they didn't.

Being different is cool. Being blind and ignorant isn't.
