What are the odds one gets you? I'll take my chances, plus if that's how I go, at least I have a cool story to be told about my death

Gangstas of the sea. Nothing focks with orcas.

Saw a vid from Alaska where there's a bay and the pod split in two, one group dived down deep as they could and then went silent and swam to the end of the bay, the others came in from the ocean and like the cavalry and making all sorts of noise, herding them deeper into the bay. Then the other half that went in deep and silent pops up and they've got 'em trapped. Double envelopment.

Everything, and I mean everything there freaked the fock out. Dolphins, sharks, other fish, etc. beaching themselves rather than get eaten. It was freaking massacre.

A planned and coordinated attack. Bad mofos.

Odds are in their favor I would imagine it may be a matter of time. As we continue to explore new breaks and over populate the line-ups...I can see it happening one day and why not, we can't taste any worse than a seal, or, maybe we taste like ass which may work in our favor.

Pretty sure I live in the Orca Capital of the World. Haven't taken a sightseeing boat out yet, but they all guarantee sightings, pretty much any time of the year.

We actually had a documented sighting in our harbor last year...kinda far from their usual stomping grounds.

I dig 'em. I'm collecting PNW Orca totem art. If you haven't seen it before, check it out...super cool stuff.

Wish I had taken one of those trips when I lived in Seattle. Could've tossed the psycho GF I was dating at the time overboard while I was at it too. Win win.

Psycho chicks in Seattle? No way, dude. ;)

Most of the pods are deep in the Strait, most on the Canuck side...but still plenty on our side too. Surprisingly, there are a bunch of family units in the Puget Sound too, all the way down to Olympia.

I wonder if they eat Geoduck?

The fact that the maggots in charge of the prison at torture world administer psychotropic/psychoactive anti-depression meds to the prisoner Orcas would, by simple extrapolation, indicate that the jailers are well aware that Orcas are sentient beings. On a level with, or exceeding, homo sapien aka the human virus.

Ergo, Orcas are not at all simply (and arrogantly) 'lesser animals.'

BTW, I believe that there have been no recorded attacks on the human virus by an Orca. As tempting, and deserved, as that action certainly is.

Ha! Well I brought this one with me, so I can't blame Seattle for that particular one. Had to bring her all the way back to the right coast to get rid of her.

Never tried the gooeys. Love some oysters but not big on clams and mussels. How do they taste?

Yeah I've heard that too. But tastes vary. My Dad could eat mussels and clams all day long, I can't stand em. He'd eat oysters all day too, as long as they weren't raw. Give me some raw cold water BC oysters and I'll binge like there's no tomorrow. I'd try a gooey though. But yeah, they look downright nasty.

End the captivity of all cetaceans.
I worked one summer (1978) during college at Marineland of the Pacific in Palos Verdes. It's no longer there - Trump has a big golf resort in that area now.
It seemed cool at first. Got there early each morning before work and would check out the orcas, play catch with the dolphins. But I began feeling bad for them - particularly the two orcas, Orky and Corky - being confined to their tanks, fed by hand, performing for the crowds, and all that.
Zoos are not my favorite place either.

My feeling about these animals changed when I was very young. We had visited Seaworld in Florida and watched all the shows and were having a great time. Back then it wasn't uncommon for the pool gates to be open after shows after everyone left. I noticed the gate open on the dolphin pool and walked in and strained to look over the edge. Just then a dolphin popped up and laid his head on the edge of the pool and let me touch him. He let out a squeak slid off the edge and backed into the pool flapping his front flippers then swam away. Even then I remember thinking that this was not just some animal it was a person in a different kind of body.

So, if Orcas will want to eat us, shouldn't we then eat them first??

    Any recipes come to mind??
