Darwinism is biological theory only--it fails in sociological matters. It detracts from your argument.

Nope... Wrong again. This is one of my favorite articles of all time. You can say the Economist is liberal, as a general rule, but it's pretty hard to argue that the author of this article is....

I am a biologist by education and to some degree by prior profession as well. The author, and you, misunderstand what Dawinism is. Not surprising, based on your political views.
BTW, The Economist is a fairly decent journal. But I am sure there are no biologist sitting on their editorial board. Darwinism has been bent to fit many parts of social thinking, including the nazis during the 1930s and on. Glad you want to be part of that?? No difference. Nazis (National Zocialst) were socialists- so are you. It therefore reasons you want to bend any theory (biological or other) into your desire to be given free stuff.

Fixed it for you. Death penalty for illegals who are murders/rapists. Problem solved. It all comes down to a simple fact, they break our laws. The law states they are deported. Follow the law until someone changes it. Maybe, I'll go into your house take a nice steamer on your pillow since it's unguarded and steal all your ****. Is that fine with you? I know there is a law against stealing personal property but I don't think I should be punished. Please don't follow the law. Otherwise, I will protest for my right to enter your house illegally.

All politicians want open borders including Obama and republicans. It's the majority of US Citizens who want the border secured and illegals deported. That is where the frustration comes from and it's why idiots like Trump are getting attention.

Typical. Amazing another person calling someone a racist because he is against lawbreakers. If you can't read the stats or the information on the websites, go back to school. Another option is to keep running your landscape business and breaking the law yourself.

Where do you get that I'm a socialist? I personally believe that everyone ought to have a chance to compete and be successful. I don't really care where you were born to do that. I also would want the freedom to move to Japan, Canada, Mexico or wherever to pursue opportunity. I see no reason to prevent others from doing the same here, as long as they are not dangerous. Not every person from South of our border is a rapist/murdered/drug runner.

I also believe that citizenship should be earned... through service. Add to that people living off the tit of entitlements. That's why I liked some of the New Deal programs that put people to work, not just giving them a monthly check. Personally, if you are collecting welfare, then I think you should be picking up trash, paving roads, painting buildings, or doing whatever else you are qualified to do in order to earn what you are given... if that's socialism, then so be it.

What drives me crazy about the immigration debate is that it seems to be driven by Republicans and Democrats, alike, who do not want to compete with people that are hungry and motivated. Naturally born americans feel like they are entitled to work 9-5 and make good money, even without an education. They complain about wages being driven down, and that by eliminating immigration, wages will rise, jobs will appear and their problems will go away. That is a pipe dream!!! These are the same people who will complain about the rising prices of consumer goods, housing, etc. that will all go up if wages increase.

Darwinism is a framework for thought on competition. You are applying a biologist's technical understanding about gene selection. Perhaps the better definition for the concept in political and economic matters is "Competitionism". I feel confident that me and my family can compete, and I want the benefit of a society where the best man or woman can do the best job for the best price. It is what America needs. We have been mediocre for too long, and it will only get worse.

You are a racist.. you refer "Paco" and calling immigration on landscape companies. When I asked you if you envision "brown person" when you think "illegal immigrant", you refused to respond. Barry and others have not shown your overt racism, and simply being anti-immmigration does not make someone racist. You, however, are a racist POS.

You are a racist against Americans. When I think illegal immigrant, I think ILLEGAL. I never talked about race. What do you envision, when you think criminal? I would hope you would think race doesn't matter either and it's just a criminal who broke the law. Both people break laws and should be punished. Why do you always throw in the race card.

I do support reporting employers who hire illegals and also reporting illegals. Employers should be fined and ILLEGALS deported. That is the law. If you don't like the law, change it or move. Our government isn't doing anything. I'm at least doing something about my stance. I never hire companies with illegals. I stay away from restaurants who use illegals and go to small mom and pop shops. Finally, I report them even though ICE usually does nothing.

You are the perfect example of the p u ss if ication of America. Even if someone jokes around with you, do you get bent out of shape. Just keep calling everyone a racist. Maybe you should look in the mirror.

I have a feeling this hits close to home for you. You benefit from ILLEGALS or are hiring them. I have a feeling your in an industry exploiting them because you seem to support exploiting them at slave wages. Does that make you a racist or just a greedy slave driver?

Nothing wrong with that. I just need a surf but it's not looking good this afternoon. Stiff offshores and knee high waves. I never was a fan of stiff offshores and very small waves even on a log. Now, stiff offshores with juice, all day everyday.

Maybe the wind will lighten up and I'll get wet on the log. I hope those racist winds cooperate. I tell you they hate me because of my skin color.

Yes, and you are a racist if you don't give them some of your money.

Darwinism has little to nothing to do with "competition" as defined within human political structures. Nada. Zippo.
It is about chaos, reproductive success, chance, contingency, etc. Life is messy, it does not fit in to social "engineering", which is the exact opposite of being messy.
This is why I state, and re-state, non-biologist rarely understand what Darwin was about. He did not "invent" evolution. That was thoroughly discussed before his time, or the publication of Origins (1859). He simply proposed a mechanism for it (natural selection), and tried to make sense in a messy biosphere. Enough of that.

If you state what you believe, then I agree with most of it. Maybe one point is that I no longer believe Welfare has any role anymore in our society. Google "welfare in Puerto Rico"--you can see what the end result is--70% of the islands population is on some form of USA federal assistance, costing the USA taxpayer 17 Billion per year. There are only 3.7 million persons living on the island. That equates to 4.6 million dollars / person/year!! "Welfare Island". So much for idiotic government programs.....no matter who the President is, right or left.

Chaos-- being a mess--life is messy. Example--gut flora
And Nope. Cichlids were at one time all contained on the same continent.
Pangea. They have bee around for a long time; they are rather early teleost. They share a basic common genetic history.
And, due to contingency, the evolutionary line would yield different genus (most certainly different species). If we were to be wiped out by another asteroid, evolution would NOT result in homo sapiens again, even if some other primates survived the impact. Contingency. The sequence of events would not replicate itself. Sorry, dude....evolution is not thought to work that way.
    And yes.....you are anal....hahahahahaha!!
