^ when i drove by this morning i was wishing i set the alarms instead of going out yesterday. Size was def better where i was yesterday though. The ssw wind held some lefts open which was the highlight of my sesh. Hoping for saturday now
I had something like this happen. Nothing forecast and was watching the cam out of habit. Saw some small lines. Checked againe a bit later and it was bigger. Hit the beach to find some waist high clean liners rolling in from the SE. I have no idea where it came from because Cuba and the other shark infested islands usually block any open water swell from getting to us and we so rarely get anything clean from that direction. Somehow this squeaked through a small window. Surprise swell is the shlt! On a side note, my buddy and I surfed some ridiculously small 5 second choppe last night. Dead low tide and maybe knee high on the 'sets'. Without anything promising in the forecast we take what we can get. We were probably the only kooks attempting to surf in Broward.
Exactly. The drops were half the fun. I had my favorite/best/most exciting left ever last night 'cause i couldn't believe i made the drop and somewhat stalled in. I was at what i think of as the most popular left in the state
Whats happening? Got to the beach this morning earlier than last morning. I was to the peak quick. No time for jibba jabba when you gotta get to work. Although some fool with a go pro mounted funshape needed sit close and tell me his hands were cold. I don't pity a fool who don't wear gloves at dawn. Nice lines coming in. A bit smaller than the day before, but just as clean so lots of great rides. Dropping in against the grain today than sweeping into the pocket. Up to the nose and back to turn into and out of the soup to set up another run. An easy glide to work with the Credence turn up. It was bad moon rising so I changed to Marley. He died today. Anyone else been surfing?
Went out aboot 8:00 this morning thinking there wouldnn't be much. Suprise! Fun waist highish occasionally bigger not many people out. Stayed out 3 hrs and left stoked. Saw some pretty kooky behaviour but it's getting to that time of the year. Skinning it here water in the low 70s some peeps still in full suites.
on a side note high tide A-Frames on the first sandbar are the sh!t. Fun surf outside in NFL region today, maybe some leftovers tomorrow.
yesterday got in a surprise session, rode my bike to the inlet expecting to look at ankle high peelers with 20 guys flopping around but I was awe struck when I saw clean waist high waves. so I got my gear and had a blast it turned out to be a good session i rode my new 5'4 daveskyboard with a quad setup(future stretch) and I gotta say that board is just perfect for the small waves thats what I had it made for. very fun 3 hour session yesterday
Waves this morning were so dang gooood where I was at. It was the last bit of out going tide and caught the tide switch. Waves were mostly waist to chest and just perfect. No wind = pure glass walls that peel for distance. Lots of great rides, could really open up and do whatever I wanted on each wave. The face stayed open allowing for plenty of creative lines to be drawn, almost couldn't make a mistake it was so playful and rampy. The good sets were steep drops and I blew a couple take offs on the LB but I got it dialed and was making em. Couple rides stand out my mind for sure.
Awesome shin slappies all week here, good thing I'm loaded with work If this persists throughout the surfing season - I'm gonna need a bigger bort
Towelie, may I offer you a grovelier bisquette? I highly suggest an investment in one! I've been taking mine in everything. Twas out this evening from about 6-8:30 right up until about total darkness. Some fun little knee to thigh high peelers came in. I was the only person out in Belmar. Minus a brief encounter with a kook. I've been doing lots of solo sessions lately. It's strange but I've come to like the lonesome tranquility. I start getting bugged out when dudes are within 25 yards of my space...not looking forward to the summer. Well maybe the warmth but not this whole lack of surf b/s and kook nation.
Kander dude, i actually AM in search of one. i've been i-thumbing through some old posts aboot the absolute BEST in locale shaperhood and im thinkin wynn...retro feesh. le grovelier bisquette is a fabled vessel no doubt. i do have an sweet sweet 7' eps that catches puddles, although due to addiction - admittedly i've been thinking more. glad you're liking yours!
Went for it this morning and had some clean 1-2 foot waves to myself. Honestly the seaglass was better than the waves though, i was down at the water checking it before i went out and managed to fill a hand-sized shell and part of my pocket with seaglass. Hoping that i wont regret getting up before sunrise though. Overall, friendly fishermen, hit jackpot on seaglass while i watched the waves before i went in, and getting out of the ocean is always a great start to the day
