I would definitely give my recommendation to Wynn. He was a down to earth guy and made exactly what I wanted. I'm pretty sure he specializes in fishes. There was a really sexy blue gloss Wynn fish on CL not long ago. It got swooped up pretty quick. I'm thinking about having him make me a twin retro fish in the near future or perhaps some other twin. I keep hearing that retro fish are difficult to go backside. My backside sucks anyways. P.s. You're right about the 7 footer. Nothing beats mine in slop. I'm thinking about getting one of those catch surf 8-9' foamies for the summer.
Costco Wavestorm, Kander. Will float you & your sig other on any ripple. And, JOB does Pipe on one ergo your 'cool factor' is secure.
Don't listen. Although riding a fish won't improve your backside, it's no harder than going frontside.
Costco Wavestorm it will likely be. Cheap has my name on it. Those catch surf boards are ridiculously priced for a foamie.
Unfortunately, flatness prevailes. Summer weather patterns return. Good time for a wave pool or getting chitfaced by the pool.
I picked a good time to be in Vegas, I'm going to surf the casino and bar all night, epic conditions!
^ Checked the Gas Chambers cam yesterday and damn that looked fun. I surfed waves that were just about as small as waves can be and possibly be rideable today out at S*cond Beac*. I had my 12 1/2 foot SUP and that thing will catch ripples. I got a few long, tiny lines, but mostly it was just nice to get outside. The weather was just sooo nice and I just had to get in the water. I bought that boart specifically for days like today, where it will ride tiny little ripples, and if even those aren't around I can take it out for a couple of miles of distance paddling. Nice day. Not Hawaii, but I'll take what I can get at this point.
I surfed Friday 5/13/2016. @ VB the waves were waist to chest high and fun. I surfed Saturday the 14th not so good but rideable.
Two weeks ago was sick. Last week was okay, but a little smaller than I'd hoped. 1 day was good, and 2 days were fair. This week started out slow with a meh session yesterday. Too much windswell, not enough south groundswell. It's there, lurking, though, because occasional death bombs would show up at the crab pots and detonate on the shallow sandbar there.
So I got out friday for a few small leftovers. As I am walking in knee deep water I step or more like stumble in a hole. Didn't seem like a big deal until Saturday morning when the top of my foot was swollen and red. Walked out on the beach like quazimoto using my sons boogie boards as crutches (srsly people asked if I needed help) on Sunday and kept an icepack on it whilst applying miller highlife and ibuprophin. Today is the first day it has not hurt like hell.
Haven't been out since Saturday. For awhile now, it's been mostly "flattish" or choppy/disorganized in this coastal cul de sac, with a few fun days sprinkled here and there. May just go out for a paddle around lunchtime today just to get in the water.
Head high and light winds out there sounds dreamy! What a great late season for ya! I think it was like that in 96 or 97...there was good surf all around the island! But yards...ahhhh. Lucky bastard
Trying to score some little fun ones later today. The good spring and winter spoiled me and now I've been dying seeing it look like a lake these past couple days
