Loose Cannon by Heavy Seas (Balto brew), you might enjoy that IPA; 7.25%, $7.99/6 @ Safeway.

Apparently gets good reviews by the suds snobs, as well.

    +1 Lagunitas es Bueno!
+1 on the # of brewers popping up in VA.

The Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager has been my go to. I just heard they sold out to enbev (who bought AB). Little backwoods home brew going big!!!

do you know how much they were bought for? Ballast obviously has a bigger audience, history and distribution, but they sold for 1 billion dollars...

Starr Hill in Charlottesville has some tasty IPAs that will not break the bank. For the regular brews I been drinking the Dale's. Pretty good bang for your buck. Eff Sculpin. I think that's overrated just like dogfish**** and arroganto bastardo.

That cracked me up because its true! That's exactly what that is. I like hoppy beers, but that one goes overboard.

loose cannon is a good IPA, harpoon has a good one too.

I'm excited about greenflash being open here, even though it is way the fvck out of the way from where I live. The best part about it though is that they dropped the prices of their beers locally to reflect that it's gonna be made here (at least that's what a beer geek buddy of mine said). Either way, i love the fact that a sixer went from about 12.99 to around 7.99 (depending on the beer and retailer).
