No one is talking about disarming (or at least I'm not). You don't think creating a one to week waiting period on hand guns and assault rifles is a good idea? You would still be able to arm yourself; however, it would deter the impulsive purchase of firearms (which is almost always for a crime or suicide.) You can even look a states with waiting laws, their gun crime is a tick lower across the board and their suicide rate via gun is much lower. I am by no means trying to disarm the people, I just want the FBI to be able to keep pace with the insane rate at which weapons are bought and sold in this country.

Damn, they keep track of how often I renew my allergy medication, and sometimes make me wait for a refill. Is it so crazy to do the same with guns?

He was not responding to you... he was responding to the statement that GUN violence went down in Australia, but not the overall rate of violence (ie from non-guns). I'll make a deal with you, we can ban muslims if we also infiltrate and arrest all white separatists, all people flying a Confederate Flag (which stands for war with the Union = USA) and any other group that wants to use violence to suppress a group of people... oh, wait, I bet you are not for that because it flies in the face of everything our country stands for ( or maybe you are). They will stay in their countries. Why spend $$$$ and time going somewhere if you are not allowed. Would you spend your hard earned money going to a country only to be denied entry and then forcibly deported? And if the commander if chief let our agencies secure the border, the threat of unwanted illegals would be greatly reduced.
As far as the weeding out process goes, there are many methods in place to determine who is an unsavory type.
All the people who have committed terror attacks on US soil were already known to be Radicals, yet the FBI was ordered to stop their investigations.
