Proof that leaders on both sides give no f@cks:
The Senate is expected to vote Monday on a series of competing gun-control measures that will highlight the continuing divide between Democrats and Republicans over how Congress should respond to mass shootings.

All are likely to fail as the two parties largely retreat to their respective corners on gun control after attempts to craft a compromise frayed almost as soon as they began.

Senators are expected to vote on four proposals, according to Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas). Two of them, backed by Democrats, would seek to prevent suspected terrorists from acquiring guns and explosives and impose mandatory background checks for firearms sold at gun shows and through online dealers.

Republicans are expected to offer two competing proposals, including one that would keep guns away from suspected terrorists if authorities can prove they have probable cause to do so within 72 hours of the attempted sale, said Cornyn, the author of that legislation.

Those measures have all failed to pass the Senate before, a point that frustrated many senators Thursday.

“Instead of trying to find a solution that would work and still protect people’s constitutional rights, we’re going to battle to a draw on Monday night,” Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said. The votes, he continued are “an intentional way to keep this as an issue; it’s not a way to solve this problem.”

If it is a choice between the two types of proposals, which one is better?

Like I said, I don't deal in ifs. I haven't posted any opinion one way or the other on here yet so don't get all defensive. I actually agree with a lot of your points. Unfortunately, there will always be someone from the other side there to block a good idea.

I like your persistence PJ. I like the Dem one better. Mind you I own a lot of guns. Almost all of them are for hunting. Some were purchased in a non-legal manner. I don't need anymore cause I take car of mine so they can do whatever they want to restrict them. Even if they ban them, I'll just bury the ones that are not registered. I can always hunt with my bow. Now if they take away my bow, I'll dig up my guns.
I got to go to work now homey. I'll check back after I get home and smoke a FATTY.

Nothing in the constitution about slavery... the only slaves I want are Barry and Archy. I'd make them watch Rachel Maddow 24 hours a day, while I smoke a massive spliffs and laugh my ass off.

You fail to recognize that although Islam can be defined a religion it is also a political ideology. A large number of Muslims in this country follow Sharia law and not the laws of this country. You cry tolerance, yet many Muslims are not tolerant of US laws. That's a problem. If you want to come to this country for the opportunities it offers you must respect the laws here and assimilate. The majority of Muslim countries that these refugees come from, come from a political system where being gay, adultery of women are punishable by death, where women are basically slaves. Try going to Saudi Arabia with your woman dressed like a typical American. Yes many Muslims do respect the laws here, but they are akin to people who identify themselves as Christian but hardly act like one.
Sharia flies in the face of what this country was founded on and that is intolerable. But you say we should tolerate them? You're contradictive in your argument.
