Clem have you tried to copy any your foam boards and build a wooden version

 

Ive been tryin to stock up on balsa and paulownia so i can build a few more wooden boards ,there was a guy down your way was selling some paulownia but i guess he went out of business ,where do yu source your wood from if yu dont mind me asking . I have built them out of cedar fence posts and scrap trim ,2 x 4 but far and away the best wood is paulownia not as light but much stronger than regular balsa.

Surfed at folly beach in the 80s before and after Gloria ,what a great place it was could surf with a springsuit on til end of november,I remember riding around drunk ,2 am in charleston looking for a place to get a tattoo and of course we used to hit the
silver slipper i think that was the name of the strip club ,and diamonds ,i saw a band called the Jumper Cables down there one of the hottest bands ive ever seen live , o **** what was the question ....my mind was elsewhere

 

I set my fins toe in and cant with a jig using epoxy just on base and then use 4 (minimum)full cloth patches with roving on each side of fin to glass them on usually from just whatever is left from from the glass job.

 

nice dude! i remember at playa langosta in costa rica i put a fin through my calf to my bone and had to bike a rusty bike to tamarindo only to find the mergency room was closed and i had to pay the pharmacist 80 bux for 10 stitches.

as soon as i got those removed (did it myself with the then rusty suture kit the doc gave me) i put another fin through my big toe, and couldn't get stitches cause i was down in pavones and far removed from any medical care. wrapped the toe in duct tape for 2 weeks and it got super infected, but made it to a doctor by the time it started looking purple and green.

Finally, i put a fin through my nose in santa cruz after some longboard kook "deer in headlighted" me after turning an burning on a solid 8 footer coming in at the seal rock on steamer lane. ****ty ass first world medical system ended up billing me almost 700 bux all said and done for 7 stitches. Ill take the 3rd (well 2nd 1/2) world system any day.

Easy to surf 'perfect' in a bath tub.
