And take this with a grain of salt as i am a native new yorker. but i've been a native that surfs here for 40 years and never have I heard any other person that surfs here mention wrightsville beach. like ever. if there are that many NY surfers at your beach i feel like i would have heard it mentioned at least once.

 

I get plenty of waves, but tired of people like you... the only reason folks with your attitude get away with it is because we are not like Californians or Hawaiians who would put your teeth down your throat, smash your board and throw your ****te in the water. If our waves suck, and we suck, then just stay the F away.

Sounds like there is a lot of exaggerating on both sides. Dropped in on 50% of your waves? Come on man, if that's true you prob shouldn't have paddled out in that spot anyway. Either that or you can't get into waves. I only drop in on people who consistently miss waves.

On the flip side, I get it, northerners are more direct. You just gotta give it right back and develop mutual respect. I'm a southerner by birth and I tend to be a bit of a pushover in the lineup, but if I get outta your way I expect you to get outta mine.

Being from the #1 tourist destination in the nation at times tourons can be a real pain in the arse. Overall though most bad situations can be avoided. The most annoying ones in the water are usually clueless to surf etiquette. They show up with the family at the washout with foamies and paddle right out like they belong there or worse yet dwaddle around right in the surf zone. I have found if you surf decent most surfers will give you respect but there are always a few d-bags in the line up where ever you go. I have seen surfers lay down some enforcement when some one is being a real d*ck. ya gotta give respect to get it and if that don't work run their arse over.

I was saying how New England surf line ups are way better attitude and wave wise then hitsvillebeach N.C.; not equating it. I grew up in the former and spent half a decade in the latter.

yea you have some good spots down there in the immediate vicinity of wb, but choosing wrightsville as the break you choose to surf and your trying to defend (or even mase for that matter) among many other shining gems in that area is just plain stupid. Chances are you can't even land a solid bottom turn and surf top to bottom and when it happens its once in a blue moon with perfect conditions. Most likely you use your office-job-paid-for boat to shuttle you and your weekend warrior pals across the inlet on the reg.

Enjoy your mushy crap, and please work on your debate format. I dig dirt for a living and can keep up with you intellectually, which honestly isn't saying much. In fact the methed out contractors and prison crews i work with seem to have more common sense and knowledge to drop, and just more to bring to the table in general then you sir. Maybe consider a career change, and a change in your "weekend hobby" for that matter. Weekend warriors are fine, as long as they're confined to the kiddy pool IE wb mase and other areas of short period shwag. Enjoy.

Having said that, I absolutely love this thread!! It has turned into "haters club". I mean, what can be more Dark Side than a bunch of us losers trying to impose a psycho-sociological taxonomy of reducing each other to a cultural sub-type??
