True prone paddleboards are a whole other animal... They have more of a hull shape, like a kayak, and require special blanks be either cut from billet EPS (which are available), or more than one longboard blank glued together to create the thickness needed. I've been asked to do them before, and have declined.

But at least I did so politely.

Bahaha. Seriously! Instead of a bat silhouette, it'll be a broken surfboard

My buddy, the late and great Jeff 'The Surge" Surgener, he built ONE. He was an awesome shaper, a shaper's shaper, and an artist and a great waterman. He had one in his shop under construction, it looked more like a mini boat than a board. Aboot 6" thick, V hull, 13 feet long, pretty narrow, cross sectioned with ribs like a hollow wooden board. Very heavy, the layup was dense. He got a small fortune for it, it was built on commission for some old salty dude. He swore it would be his first and last one he ever built. I wish ya'll met him, one of a kine! We shared the same birthday, lots of good waves and good times. RIP brother!

I never heard of prone paddle boarding. Can you tell me about it? Is it for people who have leg problems?

I paddle a lot on my longboard, and I have always wanted one of those prone paddle boards.
That is proof enough that it is NOT leg problems, but for mental problems.....<grin>

There's a little segment about prone paddle board racing in The Endless Summer. Dude paddles like 30 miles or something

Why not just get a Joe Bark? He has more experience than anyone I would bet in materials and shape. So you would be assured a quality product. No doubt he has one ready for shipment right now and is probably super easy to find unlike a local dude that has little practice and limited access to materials and processes even though those might exist in asia in some instances.
