Who gots the best pizza in ur neighborhood? Esposito's? pete and eldas? who? who got it good? thin slice or chicago styles?
Sounds like you're referring to the ONLY area that really counts... Belmar! Federico's Pizza is the best around, no contest. I have tried them all. Specially if the Mexican guy is making it. Nice family owned place located in the Belmar resort area. Strollos Italian ice is right down the street for after. Take a nice stroll along the Marina. Belmar has it all. Corner of Main St and 7th Ave.
Trust this guy. Did both with the chic last night. On my way out the door right now to talk to my boy "Jose" about some dinner.
Yes... When I was a grom, that was the t!ts. Of course, then there's Max's on the boardwalk, and a few others. Around here, Pete and Elda's is great super thin, cracker-style crust pizza. But for true brick oven pizza, Tommy's in SB is excellent. But if you like regular "normal" boardwalk style thin crust, Atillio's is good. Not great, but good. Followed by Nunzio's, then Michelangelo's in MB, then Tuzzio's.
Zachary's across the street from Monmouth Park. Nunzios and Attilios (literally next door to each other). And my all time favorite Tony's Tomato pies. The sauce is second to none. They will deliver beer too. Sadly Tony passed away and they closed shop very recently. And yes KRoc EC pizza, particularly Jersey , is hands down best pizza in the world. That's coming from someone who lived in Italy.
Wilmington NC pizza totem pole: 1. I <3 NY Pizza. Slices are good but whole pies are best ordered 'well-done' if they want to be considered the best in town. They specialize in single slices that are meant to be re-heated, so whole pies are a bit under cooked. I have had a few whole pies that were a bit of a let down, but their slices never disappoint. 2. Incredible Gourmet Pizza, Market Street location. I don't eat here often, but I got the best thin crust extra-large pizza here once. Crust, sauce, cheese, and grease were perfect. And the owner is a wild man who could drink Riley Martin under the table, without a doubt. 3a. Pizzetta's. Delicious pizza, but not my preferred style. Borders on deep dish, but very tasty. 3b. Brooklyn Pizza. Real good pizza, but not the best. I've only eaten here once and don't have the best recollection of it other than slight disappointment due to the hype it receives. 3c. Mamma Bella Pizzeria. I've had one bangarang, finish-in-one-sitting pie, and one "it's missing something" pie from them. Consistency in the former will move them up on this list. 4. Antonios. Still good pizza. Crusts are usually a little dry but their cheese/sauce is up with the best of them. Everything else around is just pizza, as far as I'm concerned. Unless I'm missing something?
Pizza is all about what you get up on.... Some good stuff around here, but nothin beats some mark's, pontillos, Chester cab, or sal's....all outta wny....makes me a little homesick....same goes for the wings. Wings ain't wings unless they're from wny
Did you live in Tyrol or some Swiss/Austrian/French bordertown? I've been to a few parts of Italy, and I had a very different experience, particularly in Tuscany. Even the cold pizza you get in the morning there was better than what we have back home. Growing up in NY and traveling the US I agree that NJ, NYC, and LI have the best pizza in the US. But it simply does not compare to what you can get in Italy. No f*cking way. Regional preference: Little Vincent's, Long Island. For a regular slice I prefer it to most anything in the city. Great sauce and amazing heros too. NYC preference: For a plain slice, New Park Pizza, Howard Beach. If you ever come surf Rockaway it's probably on your way, and well worth the stop for the classic NY slice and the people who frequent it. For Pepperoni, go to Prince St. Pizza, trust me on this one. My coworker was pickin 'em off the street after a slice dropped. Jersey, I don't spend enough time in to have a go-to, but I think that your average Jersey slice joint is probably superior to your average Manhattan spot. There's a lot of fake cheese and cheap ingredients these days. Argentina. Buenos Aires has incredible pizza. Closer to what you get in Italy than what we have here. I have had a decent slice in LA. Boston not so much, it's really just NY/NJ. Chicago? That's not even pizza. Fake soupy crap.
