Cicero man stole money from cars to support pizza habit, police say http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/ct-riverside-pizza-lover-arrest-0714-20160713-story.html
Slash, I lived in Terrenia on the Mediterranean Coast. The food in Italy is amazing, but as far as pizza goes I think it's it's a preferential thing. I've been to parties where the hosts will order pizza claiming it's the best ever, and it was complete doughy dog sh!t. That being said, I'm a fan of well done thin crust, and the sauce to me is muy importante.
Your diet here must consist of Alpo and sewer sludge if you like food in Italy Italian food in Italy is feces. Period.
Only had pizza in Dominical and it was more euro-style, which is to say bready and kind of bland. Tons of great pizza in Boston plus one of the big name New Haven places opened up. Haven't tried it. The best pizza is pizza you make yourself on the grill.
Must be preference is right! I was staying near Gabilleno less than 2 hours south. If you ever go down there (maybe visit Massa Maritima), look for Gabilleno. The 'downtown' is maybe four connected buildings on the main road; theres a bar, bakery, and pizzeria. The pizza there was excellent! Thin crust, amazing. Get the namesake pie with Tuscan boar, I promise you won't regret it. Had one of the best meals of my life nearby in Follonica. Love how those big pine trees come right up to the beach there. As amusing as the Alpo comment is, you're full of sh*t Barry. Where did you get the idea that Italian food is feces? From your fake French wife? I've been to Montreal and Quebec plenty of times. Good food no doubt, but it doesn't hold a candle to Italy.
Duuuude???? You must have been eating at the touron traps. Brotherinlaw lived in Italy for 5 years and every time we visited we couldn't get over how good and cheap the food was. Guess it helps to know someone who can steer you to the right places. Best pizza and worst pizza I ever ate in Italy. Enrico Ensalada in Rome had the best salads I have EVER eaten. Naples sucked nuts but evrywhere else had some top notch grub.
For me, it's about the chez. Good, sharp, high quality cheese is what makes a great pie. After that the crust, and last is the sauce. At home I do a roasted plumb tomato sauce... lots of garlic, S&P, fresh oregano and basil, a little diced onion, a splash of balsamic and a big pinch of sugar. Comes out a little blistered and chunky. A shmear of that on top of some decent crust from the local pizzeria, some good cheese, plus whatever you like on top of that... cooked on a stone in a hot-as-you-can-get-it oven (or the grill!).
Just started grilling pizza this year and I love it... Agreed on the cheese and especially the dough.
The best salads?? HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAÀ!!! I cannot even comment on such stupidity!! That is fvcking hilarious!! Another "feces eater" at home...... For food---Italy SUCKS. Period. And, btw, our daughter was living there for 2 years--she knew where to go. No turista restaurants for us. Italian food is better here in the USA; Italy sucks.
No. Wildwood: Sam's Pizza (Pyros second) OCNJ: Prep's Pizza (Primavera second) Sea Isle: Azzurra Pizza (no second, the rest is only good when drunk) I'm not allowed to set foot in AC, so I don't know. Avalon: I've only eaten at Circle Pizza. It was OK. About 25-30 years ago there used to be a place called BJ's on Dune Drive. I was banging a waitress there and she used to hook me up with free pie (pun intended)
Oh, jesus...another "feces eater"........ It sucks, it really, really does suck...and that is at their "best restaurant". Never been in an Olive Garden. fast food.
pizza on the grill is the $HIT. There is a great place up the road from me called Greenline. Very solid pizza made from great ingredients. I think the owners are from Jersey
Eh, in this day and age, you can get good food in any real city. So yes, we have old school Italian pizza places in the various neighborhoods that are great and then there's newer foodie wood fired, charred crust New Haven type places as well. It's like with Mexican food. On average, it's a million times better in CA but if you know the right place to go, you can get food equal to CA here.
Best Italian food I ever had was in Albany, NY. It was a Tuscan restaurant, but I cannot recall its name. It was absolutely what we want out of italian food. But Italy?? Fvck them--they are worthless as chefs. But, as they say in spanish, "Para el gusto se hicieron los colores, y para el culo se hicieron los mojones" (for taste, colors were made, and for turds, asses were made).
So what you're saying is Italians can't cook until they leave Italy. The food they cooked there was garbage. but when they got to the states everything started to change for the better. And when those pesky Italians found albany NY of all places thats when things got great. I wonder what the people of that restaurant in Albany NY think about the food in Italy?
