The tide was the only thing taking some of the pop out of it. Would have been even better if the tide was a little lower.
wracked with pain from multiple chronic injuries, paddled out anyways this am. Surfed pretty badly but still had some solid rides
It had more size, and was overall better than I anticipated. Not real powerful, but nice size and was lining up well.
Hey what's happening? Glad to see folks been surfing. I got in last night and this morning. 2 good sessions. With real waves! Waist high sets. The water was warm and this morning the air had a chill. Felt like fall. Got some great rides thanks to some advice found right here on swellinfo. So who else has been surfing?
super fun on the Delmarva this evening (with our newly lowered summer 2016 standards). Seriously - this little offshore low is hooking us up with chest high rippable surf - third day now.
Four days in a row, aug 1-4, but the incoming tide is actually good here the last three cycles, last night - tonight. Real surf and real surfing. 5:28 a.m. paddle out first light.
Evening sesh stomach to chest high in Belmar. It was pretty crappy with on shores and got worse as the night progressed but I was finding diamonds in the rough. There were a few fat slabs coming through. Feels good to be back in the water after a two week lay off. Looking forward to a Saturday morning DP.
Yea... same here. I surfed like an animal for about 2 hours and got like a "hundred" waves. Just kept coming, and the sets were nice and chunky. This morning was freakin' perfect. A touch smaller than yesterday, but pure glass, long liners, and just a beautiful morning to be in the water. Doing two-a-days for three straight days now. Killer...
You used the words "Belmar" and "chest" in the same sentence without a bench pressing reference. Is that even allowed?
Another fun morning of glassy 1-2-3' waves, nice form, long rides on the LB, I had PeaJay and LBCrew in my head talking about "get to the nose sooner", so I did, and i'm glad. Nothing like taking an entire wave from the outside, through two sections and to the the sand almost entirely from the nose. Ahhhhhh, It's Friday M'Fers!
Pumping incoming tide again this morning, and finally a perfect light offshore, and people slept in again, so all to ourselves, the unlocals then paddle out after it is already too high. So there is a pumping real swell four incoming tides in a row. First light and then evening, before and after the lifeguards and unlocals.
What's happening? Got a quick hour in last night. A little bump on it but pushing all the way to shore. Nice to get a surf in morning and then finish the day with one too. Who else has been surfing?
Exactly! I had fun today on some waist high waves with occasional plus sets. Wind was perfect, direction worked, period worked. A good day for summer with some nice lines and long rides. Perfect day for a groveler or fish.
Good fun before the tide got on it. DP with the rising sun. Two decent hours waist++. Looks like it will hold throughout today and maybe a little bit tomorrow. Grind out some work and get back on it later today. LB, I am digging the 2fer a day theory for today and tomorrow!!!
Yep, one of those people that slept in was me. I worked until 1 AM. My son, nephew, and bro-in-law were all on it at sun up. I kept getting texts like, 'Dad wake ur azz up and get down here!" and "best waves in weeks!" I'm back at work already and not happy... The job I'm on will be done on around Labour Day. I'm not missing anything over knee high after that!
Snuck out at lunch and grabbed a few... wind was sidshore and lumping it up, and the tide was way too high. But I still got a bunch of fat ones running right along the beach in almost no water. Kinda like cruising the beachbreak. Still fun, though. Even got a few fivers in.
Been getting some nice ones up here. 3rd day in a row of waves. This is what I saw upon arrival for DP at 1st light (size hard to judge w/o peeps in the water -- but this wave is breaking 100+ yards out). Solid waist to shoulder, very clean, fun. Hopefully a lil' more tomorrow morning. Hope everyone is scoring!
