I always saw the national anthem before sports as a moment to remember all the folks who died so we can spend an afternoon getting drunk and watching sports. If it wasn't for veterans, we would all be buying surfboards with the pound sterling, or speaking german. That's where it begins and ends for me.

If your an overpaid bit*h and dis-respect the only thing that allows you to be on that stage, you can fuk right off, mate. Yes you have the right to be a fuking douche, and I have the right to be ****ing pissed about it.

Unfortuantely no one is going to trash their season tickets over it, so don't expect much to happen.

The patriotism you mention is the reason why you have a nice house, car, lifestyle, and ability to do what you want when you want.

 

You stand to do the pledge and for the anthem to salute the ideals of America. All people, families and countries have failings but its the ideals that we aspire to that matter and for that reason, though he has the right to sit in protest he is a complete jackass for doing it. This goes to prove that there are in fact two Americas, one that believes in the hope and promise of it and the other that hates it and wants it to change. At the head is Obama, followed by Hillary and the "liberal" wing of the Democratic party. They would prefer a country that has surrendered any hope of personal sovereignty and would put the power into their brilliant hands to rule over us like an infant is ruled by over protective parents. Parents whos main reason for being over protective is to create an emotional weakness in their children to keep them from reaching full independence and leaving them behind.

He could have held a press conference to voice his opinions, been interviewed by Sports Illustrated, gone in many different directions. This was just disrespectful, and will not do BLM any favors. So I need to ask all of you that are preaching nationalism, patriotic ideals, and saying he should leave, etc... what have you done exactly to ensure our freedoms? Standing up for the anthem and posting on the Internet does not count. Having pride in the USA means nothing if you have not put any skin in the game. Nothing is more pathetic than a bunch of dudes that slober over veterans yet never served themselves. 99% of vets I know don't care about your pride, they want to hear about your sacrifice.

So for those of you that have served and preach patriotic ideals, please carry on. The rest of you please for the love of God stfu.

I felt terrible for the girl in the Olympics who got grief for not putting her hand over her heart. That was bs, she was just overwhelmed. I truly don't get overly worked up over flag burners,ect.. It IS their right as Americans to voice their opinions. You don't have to have the flag waving every day in front of your house to be patriotic. This , I promise, is the last time on here I will ever play the vet card(one small aspect of my life), but vets do care about this. Some, more than others, really, really love the red, white and blue and it hurts them to have a national figure show blatent disrespect. It's as if their sacrifice did not matter. Most of these men and women do not have national attention to tell their story. What does the flag have to do with police violence against minorities anyway? The two subjects are completely separate. Obama did not become the president solely on the black, or brown, or yellow vote. We are not perfect as a nation, but from my experience, better than most. Now FU#K that douche bag!!!
