There very definitely IS a black culture, fool. If you'd open your closed mind, you'd realize that black folks remind everyone of black culture every single day. Black people are still pissed at Elvis & The Colonel for abrogating 'their' music. Same for jazz. Same for rap (anyone remember Vanilla Ice getting pilloried?).

Please don't misunderstand me here. My comment on black culture was inner city / the hood culture.

Howsomever, that AIN'T sayin that you must become a thug if yer born black, 1/2 black, 3/4 of 7/8 black, etc. It's all about the family, y'all. Strong, intact families, with a Mom AND a Dad, usually produce good folks. My kids turned out ok. Theirs (my grandkids) are doing pretty well too.

I ain't black by the way. I reckon I might be a minority. The only blonde haired Italian surfer in Texas, or at least on my block.

Most cultures are multifaceted. Look at this forum for instance. There is something in each culture that makes it unique. Within each culture there is a plethora. There is something in the black culture (again not saying they are born this way...but maybe born into) that creates a certain way of life (no family structure...not saying there are not black folks with family structure).

 

Donkey, this is what I'm getting at. Why?

All the things I said before... inner city, warehoused in projects, no opportunity, bad education, fatherless homes, high incarceration for non-violent offenders, high drug addiction stats, etc. . These murders happen in inner city america where the foregoing are prevalent... they are not happening in middle class or wealthy neighborhoods... they are not happening out in the country. Sislash posted the stats on poor inner city whites being just as prone to murder... its environmental, not endemic to skin color.
