Why does it seem like everyone thought the inlet was the go-to spot this weekend? Judging by the pics I've seen, it didn't look all that good. Maybe I'm not seeing the right pics? I snagged several beasts Friday-Sunday before I had to go to work around 17th-24th. Very few riders.

Inlet never is good I don't know why people go there. I think it's just an easy access point for out-of-towners, which seemed to be the majority of wieners in the water.

ECsponger's Avatar ECsponger ref to OC Inlet

The Inlet was probably the least crowded spot around. Did you see the Indian River Inlet??? There were about 200+ people out there. Down here we had at most 12 in the water at any one time. You want to know why??? Because it was hardcore, and no it wasn't out of towners, it was a total Locals only scene. There were a whole lot of people watching, but only a very few of us actually went out.

Before you make a stupid comment, you should make sure you got your facts straight Sponger. You go down to the Inlet and call anybody out there a "wiener", and I guarantee you'll be leaving in a friggin ambulance.

Mr. Swellinfo, It was a curious question, That spot changes dramatically with the immense sand movement and the fact that it is almost maxed out with sand.

That's funny...but actually the inlet was the least "hardcore" spot. Once a swell is big enough, the shoals break the waves outside and you are left with reforms at the inlet. That's the reason most people either went to the inlet to surf (it was more manageable), or avoided it to look for more size. If you notice in the pics it was barely head high.

And to answer you EC, there's a very specific scenario when the inlet is the go to spot, and it doesn't make for a good bodyboard wave. It's more of a mushy peak to push you into a walled up inside for a few smacks.

Barely head high??? Are you kidding me??? I'm gonna stay off these boards, because quite honestly everybody on here is a friggin idiot. The inlet was far from manageable, keep surfing the Cove or NS and stay away from our Inlet you kooks!!!

    With all due respect,....

I would take a guess you skate better then you surf, first off. Second, do not even try to come on here and suggest you have been surfing that spot on any consistent basis.

If anyone is a new face it would be you. You have hardly ever, if ever, been seen surfing that spot on any consistent basis for at least the last decade.

And tthe thought that it is no good for the foam is so off base it is to laugh at. man I have pissed in that spot more then you have surfed it.

Not trying to piss anyone off, but for those of us, very few of us,. that have scored that spot since the early 80's , we know who is who and who is there when anything worth while rolls through, ....it has not been you that is for sure.

If the shoe fits,.. for the rest of you.

Let me tell you something XGEN, I grew up in this town and lived here from 1975-1991, spent some time in Florida, then 7 years in California, came back here in 2001 and have been here since. The inlet is not always my spot of choice, but it is decent when it's working. As far as a new face in the crowd, you better look into that, everybody in this town knows who the phuck I am. BTW, I do skate better than I surf, but I surf better than 90% of the people around here. I've been skating and surfing for 24 years Bud, so check yourself...

Damn, I wonder who you are in real life. I surfed OCMD since 1980 mostly at 80th or 118th. Moved on to the dirty Jerz a few years ago.

I'll tell you this much, I grew up in Fenwick Island, and used to have a sick little half-pipe there in the 80's... I am Old School, and getting real tired of these newbies talking **** on here.

Either way, you said it yourself, you have not been around. until recent, correct,? and now you say you surf elsewhere more times then not? <<<>>>I would agree with you on this point.

I just do not think you understand how much water time at that spot and others I have put in over the last ten years, not to mention, before that. You have not been surfing that spot on any regular basis,..>> period,<< even since 2001.

got a friend who has says you skate pretty well, but come on man, lets try to be real,...There are kids half your/our age that that can surf rings around you/us,.... around here.

Sorry to bust on you, but it takes very little IQ to figure out That your skills surfing are sub-par at best.

IF YOU WERE AS GOOD AS YOU CLAIM, I WOULD HAVE HUNDREDS OF PICTURES OF YOU BY NOW, LIKE SO MANY OTHERS AROUND HERE WITH SKILLS THAT GET NOTICED.

It is all good though, as long as you are having fun. post away man. Glad we got some more crazy fools to laugh at other then myself, all the time.
