I'm trying to let the negativity die. I now watch that KUNG FU show with David Caradine(who died wacking it) and, of course, Leave it to Beaver every day. I even wear a suit while reading the evening paper in my study. Yes, my paper boy delivers my paper at nights like the good ol' days. These rituals have soothed my mind and made me a model citizen. I even stopped drinking...for a spell. Though, I'll be back.

I'm a small wave wonder, especially after this summer of perpetual 2-foot. My game is that of a sexy mix of Neco Padaratz and Machado after a car accident destroyed their legs and equilibrium.

Hey, I've had punk, stand-up teens tell me I rip, so no boogie board nonsense people. I got style, unless I go out drunk. Well, under five drinks, I'm golden.

Wayne damn it, I've had old ladies cheer me as I exited the water, and it's not because of my looks...though one did seem to be touching herself on the down low.

Oh, any real surfers out there, I'll still take anyone to Chuck E Cheese if they can impress me on a lid. That offer still stands.

Anyways, I always paddled out, even though I'm no breath holding practioner. I always paddled-out, but more "survived" bigger waves, rather than ripped them. Yeah, I'm a shoulder-runner on the bigger stuff.

I only hold my breath out of the water when I take blasts and smoke herb and PCP. I'm no big wave hero at all.

But you know, Jersey(the whole east mostly) ain't worth the hassle when it's big. Heck, I got no spots in my area that can handle anything large(relative). Shoot, solid 8-foot(the 1-2 times it may happen a year) here is usually a "duck-dive-100-waves-to-chase-the-corner" BS session. I've done enough of them.

Drifting blocks-upon-blocks. Ah, I paid my dues in that stuff.

Oh guys...those big barrel shots you see of Brett Barely at the Lighthouse - a jet ski towed them out and it took five hours just to get that one picture. Believe it. All those solid Jersey bowl shots, they didn't make the wave 9-out-of-10 times. Believe it. The surf media sells images and dreams.

I might not be a big wave star, but, oh man, I am totally macho when it comes to surfing by my lonesome. And I haven't used a leash since 1998. Totally macho and manly.

Remember people, what I call "big" may be different than what you call "big." And yeah, if MIS is a Wayne-fearing man who doesn't tell stories, than I have nothing on him when it comes to size. No, Spicoli, I'm not talking aboot pen!s size.
