Hey everyone, My name is Morgan. I’m Rory’s ex girlfriend. To answer some questions, Rory was from the North Shore of Oahu and he became a pro surfer right out of the gate. His mom would park around the corner from his school and encourage him to ditch and go surfing when the waves were epic. Rory always put family first. He became sponsored by RVCA and treated his team members as Aunts and Uncles. Ror had a heart of gold. He struggled with anger issues. However, at the time it was normal for these guys who trained under ground together (including BJ Pen) to do steroids. This in turn caused a lot of negative side effects. Especially in someone like Rory. He was a passionate man that went to great lengths to defend his family and friends honor. Rory eventually retired from pro surfing and turned to MMA, Boxing and UFC fighting. It seemed like the perfect match. Furious Ror finally had a healthy outlet. But unfortunately his anger and depression took over. I was the last person to talk to sweet baby boy. We had just rekindled our friendship/ flirty romance again after ten years of being broken up. We fell righ back into place. Talking every night… one night he became angry because a woman he was seeing was accusing him of cheating. He was going nuts on the phone. Bashing his truck and breaking windows. He was so mad at her accusations. I tried to get him to calm down. I told him to breath and to get some rest. He told me a few things in return (which I’ll keep to myself) but one “I’m proud of you,” Rory then went into the closet of his room and took his own life by hanging himself. Dear my beloved Rory, may you’re entire incredible story be told one day. You deserve nothing less. You are and forever will be an inspiration to all that knew you and will get to know you from here on out. ❤️
