My wife was previously involved with the Dem party for a number of years.

We had this same convo this morning, and I wondered aloud if the Dems would automatically hand the nomination to Bernie.

She immediately told me that their rules or policy or whatever allow the party leaders to submit a new candidate!!

Sounds pretty arbitrary and capricious to me...but IIRC, they do the same thing with those "super duper delegates" too. Just can't seem to ever wanna completely give up one single iota of control...whatever.
