I do not think Trump is racist. I do think he is a clown that comes of as pathetic.

That sword cuts both ways. This election is whether you want it in your mouth or on your face. 2 party system is one individual away from being a one party system. The idea that both parties are bought and paid for by the same interest groups is scary. Controlled opposition is very easy to manipulate. Put one asshole on one end and a bigger asshole on the other and you'll vote for the lesser asshole. If the bigger asshole wins they still have the same sponsors.

But if you point any of that out you're a lunatic.

I have abstained from discussing politics this election year and I will continue to do so. As a grad with a degree in history and political science, I can say with stern but respectful accuracy that most of you have your heads so far up your arses when it comes to understanding and discussing world affairs. That's okay. I will return to my silence after this post.

Analogy.

There is a hole in the ship. We must acknowledge it or we sink. There are many causes for the hole. While you're blaming causes for the hole and not fixing the hole, you sink. You can elect a new captain, but it doesn't solve the hole. If you go around steadfast how it's the greatest ship in the world, simultaneously acknowledging the hole and blaming others for its causes but doing nothing to address it, you sink.

It's a ship. There are many like it but this one is yours. It's okay to be proud of your ship. It's not the greatest ship. It's your ship. Everyone has love and contempt for their own ship. They know the intimacies of the flaws and they know where it excels. Picking a different captain doesn't change the hole. Some of us are fixing the hole. Others are pointing out who started the hole.
