Two weeks ago some kook millionaire got hammered on Long Island Iced Teas and beached his 72 foot yacht. He was charged with BUI and ordered to remove the vessel. It's still there, now laying on it's side. WTF? I know this ain't a cheap boat. How do you just abandonne something like that? Fortunately FWC pumped the diesel fuel out in the first day or two. People have been stripping parts and electronics from it. I just don't get it. http://cbs12.com/news/local/capsized-yacht-remains-on-palm-beach-island Local surfin' weatherman Jim Wieland posted some videos of the boat and himself swimming out to it on his FB page: https://www.facebook.com/Surfin.Weatherman/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED .
No doubt. Guessing he probably inherited it. People I know that do have enough "FVCK YOU" money (from business or whatever) to be like that don't usually go around wasting it that way.
can't believe that's still out there! Got a buddy that moved down there from CR. He posted i guess less than two weeks ago it was in the lineup. The captain who owned the boat did look like a Cpt Ron descendant tho
Damn! The problem is it is heavy as ****. Need a block and tackle hooked up to a platform to secure it, my best guess. I cant believe none of my boating buddies haven't snagged that yet.
that thing is like 30+ years old. not much of value other than crap for scavengers. modern pirates (sea tow and tow boat us) wont make any money off that hunk of ****
they put bags under the hull then inflate with air and then pump water out when it start to float i think
I always thought an old yacht like that, dry docked on land with a pier-like deck built around it would make an awesome "beach house." Hell, it's waterproof, wired for electricity, has a galley, sleeping quarters, a head, should be able to plumb it to water and sewer lines. If you can make a house out of a cargo container, sh!t... wouldn't this be easier?
+1 for seatow and tow us being modern pirates. Although I always wanted to be one of those captains. It has to be the easiest job in the word, just towing in weekend warriors who left the speakers on all day in their 34 ft sundancers
We had a guy down the street in Port Monmouth NJ who had a massive Catamaran in his back yard that he lived in. It was put behind the house when the lot on the next block was vacant. Once a house was built there it was stuck. BTW I have been been towed in by towboat. Lost my engine on an outgoing tide Ocean City Inlet in late November. It was actually a scary experience, lol.
