Yup so a night in San Francisco and my new board gets jacked from my truck. Throw it out to the world....keep those eyes open for the teal/white fish. Tyler warren twin fins as well.

So you went out at night and left your board in the truck??
You must be a liberal.......Ooooo, "there are no thieves in this world, only poor people that rich people mistreat"
Just buy a new one--sorry, but you will never see that board again.....unfortunately.
In the future never trust other humans--they suck. And vote Republican!

I've never stolen anything in my life but might have been tempted by that board.

My friend contacted the cops. A year later they called him, they found his board when they busted the thief with all the stolen goods.

Another friends board was stolen and someone spotted it at Play it again Sports. Check there and pawn shops, and Craig's List.

    +1

If you want you board back, I would follow these steps. Follow C/L everyday and definitely go to pawn shops. Maybe even throw a flier to the local surf shop? I'd report it too. That way if you ID who had it, they'll get charged.

Indeed do what others have suggested :
    1. Report it to the police. Pictures answer serial numbers (if they exist) help.
    2. Put the word out to local surf shops. In general, get the word out.
    3. Daily search CL (I saw my stolen board and was able to get it back with the help of the police -- detectives set up a buy and nailed the guy).

Sorry you are going through this, I know how it feels. Hopefully you'll get it back. Good luck!

Yeah I'm not expecting it to return to me. But if I don't say anything it absolutely won't. Its not the largest surf scene in nor cal. So there is a slight chance.

I filed a police report and talked to the local shops. Hopefully the crackhead who took it decides to try and sell it to them vs a pawn shop or what not.
Anyway, its just a thing. All things are replaceable.

You went to the right places to report--hope you get it back.
I guess my growing up in PR taught me early in life that if I left something of value out of my sight for 30 seconds, it was stolen 29 seconds ago. Jaded?? Yup, but it has served me well.
Where ever drugs are present, theft is as well.
    Good luck, man.

so the board was in the back of your truck, not locked up?

Yeah I guess growing up in a surf community where every body knows of each other has made me a bit laxidasical with that kinda thing. Even in Maui I never locked boards up. Costa Rica, Nicaragua and El Salvador. Never had a thing stolen.

In New York (or at least on LI) there are now radio commercials by the police or whatever reminding people to lock there cars so things don't get stolen. Bunch of idiots. In a more laid back area I'd understand. But around here, I feel like it's common sense. If you need a PSA to remind you to lock your car, you deserve to get your stuff stolen. And that's not a bash on you leetymike. I'm just talking about my hood
