All of the above. Have meetings set up with old friends in SJ. But mostly in Rincon.
There is on surf spot requiring a boat I am going out to with 2 of my HS friends. Should be fun.

Depends on swell direction, maybe North side, maybe South side, the possibilities are endless. HA

Now that sounds fun! Would love to see some pics if you manage to take any, i never do a good job of that. I take some and then I get tired of it and stop taking them.

Nov 8-13 Sayulita - - first surf trek to Mexico.
Nov 21-27 Saladita & Troncones, Mexico
Dec 3-10 Tamarindo & Guiones, CR
    Dec possibly Bahamas

Bringing 9'2 CI or 9'6 Augie plus 6'6 LazyBoy for Mexico treks.
Might simply rent in CR, not sure yet.

Still looking at other locations for surf treks during my final winter in this region, at long last

    Good tread DPSUP

not a trip but a local excursion maybe this week just to the south of me...the barriers, which I only surfed one other time...tough to get there..depending on what goes on with the hurricane, may very well consider it.

Right on, that's a trip man, doesn't have to be via airplane or halfway across the world. If it's a bit of a drive or off the beaten path, then it qualifies!

I'm going to the Rhode Island tomorrow.

I think we are gonna keep it local till the kiddo is 3. Then we discussed going places where we can put her in surf/skate camp during the day while Ma n Pa do grown up sessions. Anyone dump their kiddos in surf camp and any recommendations?

Thanks Dude. It's on my list of places to check out. I've been to Eleuthera but I want to explore out further.

And to do a 360 from the normal warm weather Winter trip, I was thinking about doing an "alone in the wild" type trip to Nova Scotia or thereabouts in the early spring when it's still really cold but the Salmon are plentiful. Surf and fish and try not to freeze to death.

Was going to CR regularly, scoring direct flights from ewr or jfk on united or jet blue for as low as 120 each way. They were flying almost all week. Now they dropped to like once a week and the prices quadrupled.... I had such a good thing going too...

    Nica here I come

That sounds great. Setup camp, surf, fish, catch salmon, throw it on the grill, build big bonfire, keep warm, rinse repeat. At least that's how I picture it. And bears, don't forget the bears.

Dang, too bad they changed the flights up!

Hoo...that sounds cool (or cold as shat). I would love to see it up there. I wonder how cold the water is in the spring?

I've heard all y'all going on about Rincon for years, so we'll probably shoot for there. Definitely going to check out Mar Azul and see how the prices stack up to what else is available...my main goal is to get into some bigger surf (DOH or bigger range).

I got a few bigger trips planned, just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger. Mexico being the one I'm really excited for. But with things going on in my life right now, I just can't pull it just yet.

I do really need a trip though so I'm hoping to do a quick CR or PR trip soon, as those are both easy and not expensive.

But my real next trip is rode island. Going away for a weekend with the lady, just to get away. But an hoping for some surf while I'm there.

Barbados in early December. I have a couple week that I am keeping open, and will try to pick the best window surfwise. Soup Bowl is top three favorite waves for me, and I try to get there once a year. My rotation over the past several years has been Barbados in the winter and at least ten days in Nicaragua in the summer. I actually like Nica more due to the variety of waves, but my first real powerful barrel was at Soup Bowl, so it will forever be near and dear.

In the coming two years, I have have two BIG trips planned. I'm going to France, Spain and Portugal in early October 2017. The year following (2018), I'm doing a boat trip in the Mentawais. Its always been my plan to get to Indo before my 40th, so I will squeak in by 6 months.

As for boards for aforementioned trips, I found the perfect board and have had a couple shaped... the Pyzel Shortcut, in epoxy, seems to be the perfect travel board. I have a 6'3" and 6'6". If you are going to surf powerful waves, but are from the East coast, this is the board!
