they already alerted us that they are doing an interstate reversal tomorrow @ 3pm. that means no traffic into CHS. Storm not expected until Friday here in Chucktown. Schools closing tomorrow. They're anticipating this to be as big as Hurricane Hugo - soo that's sht scary. putting my boards inside the house this wknd

I remember seeing a news piece on ABC right after Hugo went through your area. They interviewed this guy sitting in his destroyed house. His statement went like this, "I decided to stay and stick it out here at home, but I knew I made a mistake when the pine trees started to come through my house like torpedoes!"

I gave my wife the option to get a hotel inland and she is OK with riding it out so that's that I guess. Getting plywood after work.

No, not mandatory, not where i'm at at least. I was just giving my wife the option if she was scared and wanted to be in a nice big hotel inland somewhere, but she said nah, she wants to ride it out, so that's what we're doing. She went through Hurricane Andrew shortly after moving to Miami and has been through lots of these before. I've lived in FL my whole life so it's just part of being here, but you never know when it's going to be THE ONE.

be safe betty and all other Floridians, southern eastcoasters, havnt seen the track in 2 days but last I checked it did not look good.

I used to think those mandatory evacs were useless, but best to not argue and just leave.my town had a mandatory evac during sandy, they went door to door checking, and if u stayed,u had to sign a waiver saying the township isn't responsible for whatever happened.i don't think my house could survive another sandy it will rip right off the foundation.i didn't evacuate during sandy because I had an old blind german shepherd and I wasn't allowed to bring and wasn't leaving him behind but hey I'm still here so

Hoping you guys in the path are spared anything really bad. Usually the worst part is the power going out and it's just hot/humid as Fl summer can be. My Mom lives in Port St. Lucie and she said " I will be fine". Not happy with that but what do tell mom?

stock up man,and have cash, atms don't work during the power outage.we went 9 days with no power, folks from Alabama came out here and fixed the poles, those guys are heros (Alabama electric) I remember the guy infront of my house said he was working like 36 hours straight to restore power.

its not cool man u start running out of provisions very fast

So I do not post here very often but I troll a bit. no much of an Intro but Holden Beach is my home

Anyhow I would love to ride it out but the Cops are kicking everyone out of Holden Beach, they do not want people cloggin up the sewer which is no nevermind to me. Instead of epic swell all we are getting is 20ft of "victory at sea". I'll close up the house early catch some surf before I have to leave to head to the Hurricane party on the other side of the Bridge. Hope my house is still here afterwards, I doubt the pier will make it.

    Ya'll be safe
