When I was in my late teens and early 20s I had numerous ankle injuries. It wasn't until I stopped playing soccer and basketball that I stopped having problems. The problem is once you hurt an ankle it gets real easy to re-injure it. Weak and unstable compared to the good ankle. Good ankle says yes, bad ankle says no and the next thing you know you've rolled it again and you are starting the recovery all over. Good luck. Work on strength, balance and stability exercises.

Lucky for you you've come to the right place for medical advice. I see you're new to the foroume so we will consider this your hello thread. Lucky for you there are a few doctors on this foroume, myself included.

Without a physical evaluation I can only guess what's going on. I'd really need to get in there and work it from a few angles to really get a feel for your range of motion.

Something that might be of help would be pictures. Often when we have orthopedic trauma in the legs, the spine and hips tend to "bunch up" to compensate during recovery, but don't revert back to normal once the injury heals. It could take years to correct this misalignment and if not addressed could lead to a domino effect of problems that ping pong from your left to right to left etc. You could experience femeroacetabular issues, issues with sacrilization, etc, from months of "hobbling". What I would need to see is this: take a series of pictures of your bare back and hips as you do several full squats. Toes out, then toes in. Photoshop the pictures to include a straight line along your spine. Let's see if we have any kink in there.

Jesus flipping Christ I can't keep a straight face.

Barry what careers haven't you done for 35 years? You've been a state cop, a pharmaceutical something, you invented the automobile, dabbled in alchemy, invented the bow, discovered fire, dabbled in wizardry, and brought Atlantis to its knees. They say most of us are related to genghis Kahn. We are all related to Barry.

    I AM BARRY.

Yes, pain is natures way of telling you something is wrong. If the pain is tolerable, then don't take the NSAIDS. Usually acetaminophen is easier on us. NSAIDS can have some nasty renal effects if taken long term.

Same, I have both a legal and accounting background, and although I still utilize both, I am self-employed in something entirely different these days, lol....

Well, I hope it all works well for you and that you prosper.
I am at the end of my work days, for the most part, and I am glad to have done well enough, given todays world, to be able to have retired. Now, most of my "work" is helping my daughter with her newly arrived daughter in any way I can. It is immense fun for me and my small albeit close knit family!!

Good post. Ballet stretches are the best thing Tuono can do right now; they can even be done in bed, and such is what I have been doing, in addition to the water walking and massage therapy, combined with good nutrition...

Here Tuono, run this past your PT and see if he/she thinks you are ready for any of these exercises, while understanding you may not be as flexible, since Lisa has been working at it for a while now...

The more you do it, the longer you can hold each position...

Can you give me a couple of examples, Barry? I've had a long term love affair with Ibuprofen.

Glomeuralnephritis or, inflammation of the kidney, especially at the site of the functional unit of the kidney, the glomeruli.
Sh1t happens with ANY drug consumed for long period of time. Never forget, if it isn't IN your body at birth, it doesn't belong there. So, caveat emptor.
