I forgot to post this a while back. I added to my arsenal, Quantum PT Iron reel and a 7' Penn Squadron rod. I think it's because of two titties, but I have to have two of everything, so I have two of the same set up. I ran braid of a while but the it kept knotting up so I'm back to mono.

Nice. My gear is all salty re-strung crap but it works...kinda! My bro is filling his freezer full of trout around Wilmington. I'm on some small river stripers. Ocean fare is what I'm yearning for.

For all the hype, I can't stand braid. Sure it sinks faster, can pack more pound per reel and casts further, but the annoyances its caused me when snagged outweighs all the above positives. I know tons of people who swear by it, but there's nothing fun about circling a snag trying to pop it loose, while the line cuts your hands like piano wire. I'll pass on that grass.

Nice setup btw Z, I hope it's getting a workout!

I have the exact opposite experience with braid. I always cut myself with mono and fluro. Plus a baitcaster, for me at least loves some 10 pound braid. I have mostly braid set up on my poles with fluro or mono leaders depending on water clarity. I've also, never, (so far anyway) lost a fish with braid on a rod. I have however lost jigs because of **** knots tho
