Sick! Im heading to mamouth mt for a few days in February. Havent hit the slopes in a while. My ex-wife was a real **** and only liked to go to tropical locations. I left her when i saw her blowing the mexican bell hop on our last trip to cabo. I burned that *****es passport before I left for the airport. I hope she's still stuck down there!
Be careful up there, rumoure has it that wayne the insaaane has relocated to the alpine regions, disguised as a Yeti, in hopes of throwing off Florida CPS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WWrBPpya2w (Have fun mang)
Especially if you like waiting in long lines to get on the lift. Therein lies "the real fun"!!!! Soooo exciting!!!!!
Nah, that sounds terrible actually, I don't do lines or crowds. I would rather go off somewhere away from people and do it.
you have to know the place you are going. Every place has areas that never get crowded, you just need to find them. When I go to Killington at peak season i really only wait in line for the first ride up, then head to my go to areas and ski on ski off all day. Another thing is to go early. At local PA mts, i always get there very early. Most places dont get crowded until noon or so if you ride from 8 to noon, you can bail with tons of runs in.
DP, Just to let you know... There are no transferable skills from surfing to snowboarding. Another steep learning curve, but it's fun.
Right on, I'm sure it ain't easy. Hopefully I have enough board skills to have a little fun before crashing and burning.
It's easier than surfing. I just found no skills transferable from anything to snow boarding, maybe wake boarding or slalom water skiing. You are better off not skiing first. Anybody have a differing opinion or experience?
Seriously, there are zero. I was unfortunately told differently. The only similar thing is where your feet are located. Completely different sport. On the flip side, I used to ice skate quite frequently and I found skiing easier to pick up so I enjoy doing that more than snow boarding. Well more than that one time I tried snow boarding.
my advice is if you want to try it, get a lesson. With snowboarding, you should be able to pick it up fast with a lesson or two.
If you've ever done slides on a longboard (skating), then it's just like that, weight forward, kick you tail out to turn. When pow pow shows up, then it becomes just like surfing - weight back, and carve the fvck out of the mountain, that's when snowboarding becomes snowboarding.
