My grandfather and the author knew each other...I don't talk much... I love chess. Two of my brothers are much older than I, and one became an avid chess player at an early age. I began playing at a young age, he tortured me for a few years, and then I came into my own with it...
You sound like something I heard on NPR today Goldman Sachs is mad alright. One if Bannon's top employee is Jewish and the domestic violence charge was dropped.
His opinions were his own regarding everyone. It was his duty to know everything about everyone whom might be extended an invitation to the WH.

just bc it was dropped doesn't mean it didn't happen , but anyway just think it was a bad choice for the country as a whole... time for some Edward R murrow quotes: "We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. When the loyal opposition dies, I think the soul of America dies with it. We cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. The obscure we see eventually. The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer. No one can terrorize a whole nation, unless we are all his accomplices. A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves."
Sigmund standing tough. I like it a lot. American democracy was built on passionate conversation. This is great. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3935314/And-award-worst-election-loser-goes-deluded-millionaire-celebrity-t-deal-fact-America-couldn-t-care-think.html
Obviously but we need a better relationship with them. Unless you want WW3. You should have voted for Hillary. Then, you would have gotten your war. There is nothing wrong with trying to make a relationship better with an old enemy especially when it makes Americans safer. That is the main responsibility of a President before anything else. Protect our country/sovereignty by securing our borders, protect us from any threats foreign or domestic. Making a relationship better or more open with Russia helps protect us. I do hear you that we can only take Putin at face value though.
Really, you support the current President, right. Oh I forgot our government falls under soft fascism instead right now.
You do not understand Russia, or the USSR, or the time of the Tsar's, and I most certainly do so; take that as much more than face value...
This is what it is all about. I'm not a fan of Putin but I can understand his rationale. People in this country always tend to look at things from one perspective mostly the because the media shoves the red white and blue rhetoric up our ass. I love my country when it runs as it was designed. I also try to look at things from other countries perspectives too. What we do in other countries and affects it has on other countries needs to be analyzed before making a decision. Look at Syria or the Middle East. If Russia tried to go in there for their own benefit in regards to oil, we would be ready to fight them. Now, when we do it, people think it's fine. I thinks its better to just negotiate for all sides to win and avoid war. Our involvement in the middle east alone has created ISIS and our foreign policy has a lot of responsibility for terrorist attacks here including 911. The terrorists are cowards because they hurt innocent people who have nothing to do with our government decisions. The problem is if you were a good person living in the Middle East and one of Obama's thousands of drone attacks killed your village including friends and family on a grand scale, I think you might be a little mad at the country authorizing these drone attacks. I think we should stop intervening in any foreign country and just worry about protecting our country. The problem is that ISIS was created because of our foreign policy. It could have been avoided without these war hawk presidents but now we have this issue which forces us to intervene or use force to stop ISIS. A mess that could have been avoided but we are here now.
Although it is not unprecedented (General Patton being a fine example, and excellent commander), protocol fails to permit top brass expression of public "opinions". There are times when said protocol must be broken, and if we had listened to General Patton's instincts regarding the Soviets, we would not be in our current posture with Russia (doubtful the country would even exist, if he and my grandfather had their ways). That should answer your question...
Saying that someone does not understand Russia and you do is not a fact... It's an opinion, and an arrogant one at that. Dumb dumb
I do understand Russia and their past. I'm not saying we should be pals. It just doesn't hurt to just play nice and not cause ripples. People worry too much about feelings from the past. Keep the past logged in memory but just try to make relations better with them. That doesn't mean we let them get away we stuff that puts Americans in harms way. I'm just saying they can help fight ISIS. Let them handle most of the work if thats what they want. If it keeps our family members and friends in the military out of harms way, I'm all for it. We just have to keep an eye on it. It doesn't mean we are condoning communism or that we trust Putin.
