it's just a word...like "lame". Saying it out of context has no specific homoerotic connotations. It's just a word, for crying out loud.

It's just the manner in which we low brow, knuckle dragging neanderthals verbally assault each other, or trade insults. Sandbox.
Other than that, it is just plain stupid, you are correct!!

Yes it is stupid but why do you consider it an insult? For some that is hurtful. Is it bad to be gay?

Speaking of gay, anyone see that make up commercial for eye lash stuff? Mascara or fake eye lashes or somthing. Any way, it's an overly flamboyant dude in the commercial. And I'm pretty sure it's a coverGIRL commercial. It kinda bothers me allot. Not because i have a problem with the gays. I couldnt care less if someone is gay or not. But don't be shoving your gayness in my face via TV commercials.

One could say that we have been shoving our heterosexuality in their face, like , forever. It's unnerving unless you personally know a transgender person and then it starts to look a whole lot different.

People used to say same thing about having women as news anchors. And Blacks in sit coms etc.

Holy shlt, give me a break. How can anyone draw parallels between these two examples. I guess being married and holding my wife's hand is shoving it in someone's face? Sounds a lot like the way I'm forcing my religion on someone by saying Merry Christmas.

Yeah. I mean i see what your saying Betty. But the thing for me is this. Being straight is normal. We're not shoving anything in there face in my opinion. And not for nothing, gays are treated as equals. They can get married. They can achieve anything a straight person can. And it should be that way. There's nothing wrong with that. My point is that they're not discriminated against. By certain individuals sure. But as a country, no they're not.

I don't got a problem that a gay guy is in a commercial. If you seen the commercial you'll know what i mean. It's not just some gay guy saying hey buy this. It's an over the top gay guy. Promoting make up. Let's face it, that's not "normal". And again i got no problem with dudes wearing make up, that's there choice. But putting that in a public tv commercial. That's got to confuse the hell out of some kids. It's the world we live in so they will learn about it eventually, but shoving it into households? There's being gay and then there's the extreme. The fact that it's a covergirl commercial...it's on the extreme side

Yeah, it's a guy. I read something about this recently, the media was playing it up as a positive thing.

Your last statement would have been accurate over 50 years ago. Those notions have been nonexistent for over half a century, so I'm not sure where you're going with this.

I've personally worked with transgenders over the years, and I have close family members and friends who are gay.

First of all, I feel the need to remind you that not many transgenders are actually gay.

Secondly, none of the gay people that I've had the pleasure to be associated with are nearly as thin-skinned as you appear to be on the subject.

So please do us all a favor and spare us the shaming and indignity. We're all adults here, most of us in the same age group as well. As you are probably well aware, mature people don't react kindly when being told what to do.

If we have any gay Swellies that are offended, I may reconsider my stance.

No, I do not believe heterosexuals are shoving it in other people's faces. I was just taking his argument to the logical extreme to make a point.
