Unreal - - I received an infarctione from the evil humorless simodian666 reptile.

Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, given Austine's recent tantrums & Austine-centric whining, with several of us slapping him in his face with The Reality Schlong as a result of his sniveling.

Or maybe this is just hanna bonnnana or that other asshat from Jerz with nothing better to do.

Either way, it's apparent that Nalu gets it.....Betty gets it......legions of people get it, simodian666 reptile......it's called HUMOR not trolling.

Keep it up, simodian666 reptile. This place will die faster than your sex life did 15 yrs ago.

So the microwave idea, not so much.

Next option: turn the suite inside out, put it on (you), have your sig other dump 4 bottles of vinegar, one gallon of vodka & 12 cups of coffee into your bathtub; get on in there & slosh around for no less than 3 minutes but not more than 6 minutes & 45 seconds.

Air dry for a year. Should be ready for surfing.
    All the best,

Wow! I wonder if the mods are actually from the humorless MSW and are doing a reverse invasion of SI to get even for the SI invasion of MSW a year ago.

New Rule: If a mod believes someone is trolling or derailing a thread, contact the thread owner / OP for their opinion before handing out an infraction. This is my thread and I have no problem with Yankees post. Please retract the infraction placed upon him. You don't have to like Yankee or his personality but he deserves the same leeway in posting humor as everyone else does.

Now that is ridiculous. I don't even have words for that. Just wow. But if you ask Austin, it's not his or the mods fault. It's ours.

Even the guy asking the question understood it was a joke.

    Back on topic.

I think I just spotted a delam spot on the bottom of my oldest SB's. It's got an area that is soft and bubbled up. When I push my finger on it you can tell it's vulnerable and probably should be addressed. Should I just cut away around the circumference of the affected area, clean out any debris or damaged foam, and fill with Q-Cell and then patch her back up? Only problem is the board is blue and I don't plan on trying to match color, so it's going to be noticeable when i'm done if I decide to do surgery.

They have them at like a 7-11 for heating up bean burritos and things. Just take your wetsuit down to Sevs and clean it up.

D-Sup... Cut a circular flap with a hinge as you envisioned and flap it back. Clean out loose material and puddle in some resin. Flap it back down, wipe away what squeezes out, and weight it down flat. Clear patch over that. Then... rename your board "Frankenstein."

I use the 8.5x11 clear transparancy sheets - for over head projectors. You can still get these at staples. I'll tape the 11" side and pull it up and over, flush to the deck and it forms a nice rail from the q-cell.

    Cuts sanding way down.

    fractured stringer question.

    Picture1112161611_1.jpg Picture1112161612_1.jpg

Kinda buckled my longboard. Need some advise.. The stringer is not completely broken. Just fractured along the break, but not all the way through to the bottom of the board. I have fixed boards that i've completely snapped before by reinforcing the stringer, but not sure if I need to in this case..welcome any advise.. Thanks.

That's the beginning of the end... unless you strip it back on the deck side and rails, reinforce both the stringer and rails, and re-glass.

Kinda figured so.. its a weird break. the foam is not damaged at all. just the glass and the fracture in the stringer.

Epoxy is def the way to go ,you can use it on any type of foam, the polyester resin can turn a styrofoam(eps or xps) board into a disaster ,plus if yu do it inside your garage it will never be the same, and yu need a respirator to use it safely, temperatures can be critical likewise humidity, good epoxy is more expensive but its worth it.You've gotten some good advise ,but one more little thing dont dump resin into a hole the heat from exothermic heat build up can burn the glass and foam around the repairs. There is a resin guide yu can download from some of the online surf suppliers to give yu amounts for laminating different board lengths plus temperature guidelines the epoxy is expensive yu dont want to waste it with a lot of leftover resin in your bucket.Wear gloves dont handle the foam with your bare hands the oils are the problem ,yu have to get the wax out of the repair area and it needs to be dry
