If Romney can change his tune, so to can you (if you were negative on Trump)

I don't know how Romney even remembers what "tune" he is faking at the moment. First he kisses up to Trump for money, then he hates everything about him, now he is back to kissing up to gain political power. Mitt's lack of any moral compass or ideals that can't be swayed for a few bucks is amazing in its transparency.

Sure, you could continue to view everything in a negative light. I could do the same. But I see reason for optimism, so I won't.

Mitt is suck a tool. I hope Donald is stringing him along and then at the last minute says "Eat my Fu*k Mittens. You actually thought you were going to get Sec. of State? Hahaha. Go get your shine box"

I dunno what I think about Romney, mixed signals on that one. I will say though, If I learned anything from the past few elections, its that the insults thrown at each other during the campaign period is meaningless once the election is over. Everybody goes back to business as usual. I think what he said deserves an apology if he expects to get that position. I also don't know that Donald would waste his time with putting on a charade only to publicly humiliate him as a pay back. Can't see him doing that. What a waste of energy that is. I think he's just trying to get the best possible people and isn't afraid to reach out to those who have been opposed to him. Not saying he's the right choice or not, but I see it as a good thing that he is willing to talk to people with opposing views and come together.

    Optimism?

The entire Trump campaign was based on pessimism and fear, literally the entire thing. Did you watch the RNC or a single Trump speech? I am at this point entirely optimistic in the fact that Trump and his fortified swamp of hedge fund managers and Pence's regressive idiots will be so damaging to the average American that this administration is one and done and relegated to the most embarrassing parts of US history classes.

Yeah, optimism, you should try it. But it's easier to be negative and criticize everything right? I'm over the negativity from "you people". Ya'll need to change your outlook on life, it aint all doom and gloom. I understand the skepticism but damn man, there's no pleasing some people.

Thank you for confirming my point about Mitt and apparently you as well. Total hypocrisy. You want to try optimism but you voted for and support the man who cried "doom and gloom" for the last year and a half.

You can't expect my optimistic nature to extend to people who have no values other than their greed and hatred. "Us people" are being realistic about the damage about to be handed down.

I'm obviously not going to change your way of thinking, nor will you of mine in a debate, so honestly it's pointless. But, I will play along anyways. See, what "you people" don't understand is, it's not doom and gloom if you are calling it how you see it, and obviously millions of people all across America saw it the same way and voted for him. It might as well be considered land slide if you look at the electoral map. There's a reason why states who voted for Obama twice in a row flipped and voted Trump this time.

You have to see that your "party" is in shambles because the people are sick of it. You can continue to live in an alternate reality all you want but so far he's doing a good job from what I can see. There's a 1000 people in Indiana who still have a job at Carrier today because of him reaching out. There's people who work for Ford who still have a job because he was able to get an agreement to not send some of those jobs over seas or to Mexico. These are good things regardless of your political beliefs.

Is this the same optimism you've had for the past 8 years, or is this newly discovered optimism?

I always give each elected President a chance once elected. I let their results or lack therof form my opinions. Right now I'm happy with what I've seen. It's always subject to change.

Awww, po' wittle Codfish is all butthurt from losing election....awwww.....
Depends how you define damage. I define "damage" as Obamacare and its ever increasing cost; as a Secretary of State putting Top Secret documents on a private server; as a Superior Court judge (Sotomayor) stating she wanted to smash her colleagues brains out as he (Scalia) lie dying; as years of infanticide consistent with the Holocaust. So many more reasons that we are all tired of the Clintons, and morons that support their corrupt way of thinking, such as yourself.
Hopefully, things will change for the better, not only for me and mine, but for yours as well. Of course, your thinking is so damaged, even if your life did improve, you would never admit it simply because it doesn't appeal to your Marxist/Leninist mind set.

    Well said, Barry.

What SJW's like Codfish (as well as the MSM) tend to ignore is that a large section of moderate white swing voters, many of whom like myself voted for Obama, chose to turn our backs on their party because we were sick and tired of their narrative portraying white people as the racist misogynistic xenophobic bigoted lazy inbreeding Bogeyman and the main cause (along with police)as the main problems of our country's social ills.

And since they lost the election, they've doubled down on that narrative, serving to confirm that they really don't have a clue about how they lost.

Furthermore, these same entities freely tie Trump and his voters to Hitler and the Nazis, further degrading any chance of winning back any moderate voters.

Most of the people didn't actually vote for Trump...they actually voted against Hillary, to protect their own interests. But of course, you'll never read this in the media.

What don't you understand about that?
