I do a similar move sometimes when surfing. I call it over the falls and into the washing machine spin cycle... My recovery is not nearly as graceful though. That is some crazy, amazing stuff though! What's the biological reason they tumble like that?

    lyme disease is no joke

I got lyme's disease from a deer tick back when I was in college. I ended up getting the "bullseye" rash that's usually associated with lymes, but isn't always present with lymes.

anyway, after 30 days of pill antibiotics, a follow up blood test showed I still had the lymes antibodies, so I had to get a picc line in my arm (a catheter in my vein that I had to keep in for a month) and then report to the hospital every day for a month to get IV antibiotics.

the good part is it went away. the bad part was is was a huge pain in the ass and still sort of freaks me out when I think about it and hear stories of people with permanent effects from not treating it quickly enough. and I hate stupid ass ticks even more than I used to.

so whether it's for the view, or for your peace of mind, i'd go back to the infectious disease doc if I were you. back in the day, they did a blood test they called a "lyme titer" that measured your antibodies in response to the lyme organism. once those antibodies were low enough/gone, you were all set. some say eating garlic keeps ticks away. worth the try I suppose.

It's genetic. Some breeder hundreds of years ago saw one of his pigeons doing it and selectively bred them until he had a whole bunch then sold them to other breeders. When I was a kid other than surfing it was the thing that made me happiest. Watching my birds fly is just awesome.

Ho Brudda, you speak Pigeon? j/k. That is a really professional set up. My neighbor raises chickens and has his dialed in like a resort too. Cool video too of the tumbles.

So, back to the ticks. Anyone ever get the seed ticks. I got those all over me one time. took weeks to get them off. I was finding them all over myself. Had one on edge of my ear that was bedded and picked him out exactly two weeks after. They are super tiny....picked 4 or 5 out my belly buttom...I was having bad dreams about it. Messed me up for a bit!

Is a seed tick a chigger?

No. Chiggers suck too and ruin you. Seed ticks look like fleas or those little seeds in Kiwi fruit. Black and typically if you have one you have many (like chiggers in that manner)

Sorry to hear that man. Thanks for the info. How long does it take for the symptoms to show?

Check out that Mayo Clinic link I posted.

You can have NO symptoms and the destruction is happening to your nervous system behind the scenes.

As stated in orevious post, your doc did not give you good care. Go see an infectious disease specialist. Lyme disease can be serious and slowly destroy the nervous system over time.

    Sincerely Yours
    Dr. Betty

The Bulls Eyes Rash will show up with in a few days or so - I have had 2 separate Lymes infections and two rounds of antibiotics. Its no joke - although the antibiotics cleared my blood for the tests i still swear to this day im not 100%

Ugh, that sounds terrible. I have more scars on me from picking at chiggers than anything else. I once got them in my pants and they embedded themselves in my ass cheeks. I mean like ten or more on each side, it was absolute misery. Chigger bites on your ass causes welts the size of half a golf ball that are hard, hot and itchy but painful if you scratch.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for the rash even though I hear it doesn't always show up.

Man, I'm sure glad we don't have those ticks down here. All we have is flesh eating bacteria, child eating alligators and alligator eating Burmese Pythons. Oh and zika too.

Oh yes. That's how we share the zika. And the no-see-ums have been brutal at the beach lately.
