Fair enough. I don't follow his personal life. Just showing how you can be a Democrat and still give the President a chance and support him to do what's best for the American people, despite our differences. It's part of being an American, a proud one that is. I remember a day when once the election was over, most everybody got behind whomever was elected. Or so it seemed. Our culture has gotten too cynical.

i agree. he is or will be our president like it or not. i remain skeptical but i do hope he is successful. if he fails that means america fails and i don't want that. but it doesn't mean i'll think that trump just created thousands of jobs at ibm. i also don't care who some athlete or actor or pop star supports.

i know that sound bite is taken out of context in that video clip. but he did actually say that to senate republicans just as obama was being inaugurated in 2008. so much for doing whats best for the country.

You guys are funny. You do realize that the majority of the entertainment industry, pro athletes, actors, etc. are your fellow Democrats right? They make up for a decent part of your group. And the Obama administration has done a great job of using them to push their agenda and brainwash society through the movies you see, the athletes you watch, who btw have gotten increasingly vocal in politics the past 8 years. They are the mouth piece to the mainstream and ya'll eat it up with a spoon. Yet here you say you reject their opinions. It's weird.

Saying it before he even had a chance is wrong. After the 1st term I think you get a good sense of if things are working out or not.

    1- I'm not a democrat
2- pro athletes and other famous people don't make up a good part of any group. Maybe .0001%
3- I don't eat anything up. I just said I don't care what some football player that beats up chicks has to say about politics.

So you're not a Democrat, i'm also not a Republican either, i'm registered as Independent / No Party Affiliation. My post wasn't directed at you either, so don't take it personal. Sorry, maybe I worded things wrong, but what I meant was that most people in the entertainment industry were in support of Hillary / Obama or anybody Democrat. I'm not sure what percentage of the population they make up, but very few in that industry are a Republican. I can't even watch ESPN without hearing their Liberal opinions being pushed when I just want to hear about sports.

and after eight years of obstruction it's easy to say things aren't working out. republicans have done nothing but oppose obama on everything regardless of the merit or lack thereof. obamacare? a republican idea proposed by the very same heritage foundation where mitch is giving that speech and implemented by none other than the republican's last potus candidate. it was a great idea until obama proposed it.

political discourse is essential for our govt to function. not every idea is a great idea no matter who proposes it and things need to be debated. but to blindly oppose something just because it comes from the other side is wrong and damaging to this nation. unfortunately it seems to be where we are at this time.

Obamacare is a bad idea regardless of who came up with it. If Abraham Lincoln had thought of it, i'd say it was bad. I agree with your 2nd paragraph though.

remember the mid terms. They were instructed by the voters to block him.

agreed. the voters spoke in 2010. but we've also had some serious gerrymandered redistricting since then. in fact fantastic republican strategy to work from the bottom up politically. for a country that is fairly evenly divided politically things have swung very far to the right power wise because of that. remember hillary did win the popular vote if you count all the illegal and dead people voting :p

I'll give Trump credit for the 700 carrier jobs as he actively appealed directly to Carrier, but as far as IBM, sorry, this decision was likely made many many months ago. Obviously announcing this during Trump's Tech Conference makes for some good will. And in reality, when and if they actually add these jobs, Trump will be president anyways, so it's a moot point. We can keep jobs added under Obama at 10.9 million.

True, but these are the metrics we use to measure the relative success or failure of a President's policies. I can promise you if the unemployment rate goes up, or the job growth goes negative, it will reflect poorly on Trump, just like it would have for Obama, or any president before him.
