Japanese surfer rescued after spending 16 hours adrift in the ocean off Australia http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...anese-tourist-alive-bulli-beach-a7527216.html
zzzzzzzzOOOinKKsssss that must have been the longest 6hrs of his life. Glad it ended well.. bet that yellow board helped him get spotted for sure too
^...glad he was spotted, reads as if he paddled the wrong direction...
Lost at sea over 20 hours in DOH surf in the PNW, finds shore 20 miles north on Indian reservation: http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/archive/?date=20030321&slug=surfer21m
Indeed, Mr. Smith failed to go spread eagle (sorry Springfeel) within the undertow, in order to slow down, and then left his swim buddy, both bad moves. Good thing the tourist did not lose his board...
Please forgive me, but I transposed Mr. Smith and Mr. Snyder's names, within my mind (two S's), and wish to correct myself. As opposed to editing my previous post, I located the full video. The training begins at the 19 minute mark; however, watching the full video could prove life saving, one day...
Well, here is another one. I simply fast forward scanned it, like I did the other one. The audio is bad within post #13; so, if I can locate a clear one of the same (doubtful), I will simply edit and replace it. I did notice the first few seconds of this one, and it reminded me of being out in Oside. They (Camp Pendleton) would sometimes come out in their rafts and all for training, making us move north, and they were really cool about it, too. mask and flippers and waves= good time! the rest looks like I need to be 20 again! I truly wish I became a rescue diver! I fkd up!
Funny you said that, because this was the next one in the queue, and Florida (at least to begin with...watching it now)!
Have yet to find a better audio for the riptide video, but I imagine this one certainly contains some helpful information for all, as well (going to watch it, now): Edit: @00:55 - "...it is some of the toughest training, in all the military..."
I'm going to make a YouTube video about Flo and his/her lame posts. I'm going to call it, "Surviving The (C)unt".
