I'm pretty sure Matt Johnson was the last one who could. I only lurked until the tail end of his reign. You need both. A surfer can spot the fùćkin kooks and keep em in line and someone who actually spends time here and knows the community can actually positively influence content and discussion. I have seen far too many good surfers turned off by this place since Matt Johnson split, because the crazies who don't know sh!1 about surfing are allowed to run the asylum. By driving away good surfers, you lose valuable content. When was the last time a legit shaper posted on here?
