As forums go, new guys are the annoying ones normally. But you guys sound as whiney as a room full of middle school girls when the Wi-Fi goes out. I thought this was going to be a thread about the surf park in Austin, but found lots of yotches instead.
I appreciate the feedback. It only makes me a better admin. I was sent to do a job here, and to get the community inline. I did the best I could based on my experience and the support I received from my team. It didn't work, so we switched gears. This forum has been in decline since long before I came on. I was trying to provide a space for new surfers to enjoy themselves without all the hatred people like you like to inflict. New people are the blood of forums and they were being chased off. I received many many contacts about it. I've already publicly apologized, and I'm not going anywhere, so lets make the best of this and work together towards a better SI. Sound good?
What else would you call it? Telling people to kill themselves till they leave falls into that category for me.
Calling Bullsh!t on this here statement. NO ONE, EXCEPT ONE OR TWO POSSIBLE TROLLS, HAS EVER LEFT THIS SITE BECAUSE SOMEBODY SAID, "GO KILL YOURSELF!" IT WAS KIND OF A JOKE AND RITE OF PASSAGE STARTED BY UNCLE 2 BARRELS AND ADOPTED BY THE REST OF US.
Not trying to be a d*ck, but do you even internet, bro? I mean, this is par for the course across the interwebs and has been for years. I don't think I've ever personally written this, and I guess the internet would be a (very slightly) better place if no one did, but... I don't have a whole lot of respect for someone who is personally emotionally impacted by some random anonymous troll on the internet writing this to them either. To be honest, I find it hard to imagine the type of person who would get personally offended enough to leave the site ever becoming a valuable contributor anyway.
I actually dont though. Go through every new member thread. I say hello or welcome if anything. Thats the thing you publically apologized but nothing has changed. I never asked for an apology i just want this place moderated better and changed for the good. I saw you post yesterday "this is the SI you wanted. Hope you enjoy it" and it just embodies the condesceding attitude you post with. So whos spreading hatred? Since youve arrived threads grow slower with less people contributing. Ill always play by the rules but just dont piss in my oatmeal too. Again. If this many people have expressed their dissatisfation with your job it cant be all us like you are always so quick to point out.
This forum NEEDS JESUS.....wish I could contribute more, but tired of being muzzled. Hope all is well with with my fellow brethren on the SI line-up....
